Afternoon: First discovery of Siem Reap and environs; the visit to Puok silk center at 16kms, on the way to the Thai border, will fill that fist day in Cambodia. The life of fishermen is truly unique: installed on floating houses on very high stilts, they depend on water fluctuation and use a wide variety of fishing gear whether it is family, artisanal or industrial. Return to Siem Reap.
Visit of Angkor Artwork, workshop for the manufacture of handicrafts, under the leadership of a renowned craftsman expert in lacquer, gilding and polychromy, who employs local, young and hard of hearing workers, and perpetuates the tradition of traditional techniques for the design of its products (lacquers, statues, paintings …). Under his leadership, in the space of 10 years, 350 artisans will be trained in the practices of crafts. Lunch in a local restaurant.

Afternoon: A last visit to Old Market for shopping, and the former French colonial district which adjoins, will complete this tour of Siem Reap, the city of temples whose name is now highly evocative.
