Repulse Bay

The Repulse Bay is a spectacular bay off the southern part of the Hong Kong Island. The origins of its name are still unclear, though there are several interesting stories that abound. As per the most popular story, the British navy successfully repulsed pirates from this bay, and so the name Repulse Bay. Basically a residential area, it offers opportunities to relax, indulge in water sports etc. The lovely beach attracts tourists and locals alike & water temperatures are perfect for those looking to escape the heat.

Swimming remains a popular activity in the summers & the beach is equipped with several safety measures to prevent any accidents. There are several cafes, restaurants and shopping complexes in the area. There is a lighthouse on the beach that is a popular spot among tourists. Besides these, there is the Zhenhai Tower Park which is built in accordance with Chinese style, situated close to the beach. The giant statues of the Queen of Heaven and the God of Mercy are other attractions near Repulse Bay. For beach lovers, there are other beach options in the vicinity including Deep Water Bay, Middle Bay & South Bay.
