It is the most preferred wildlife location for tourists as it is the abode of a globally renowned bird sanctuary. There are many ancient temples, palaces, forts and luxury hotels to explore here. You will be picked up from your preferred location or hotel in Agra in a sophisticated car to begin visit to Bharatpur. Agra to Bharatpur distance is 58 km which takes about 1 hours.
Day 1 : Guest Pick Up/ Drive to Bharatpur, Sightseeing
We move towards Bharatpur. Upon arrival we take a hotel. We see Lohagarh fort, Ganga temple and Deeg water palace.
Lohagarh Fort: This unique fort is known for the reflection of rugged strength and not for any ornamental quality. It is surrounded by a ditch which used to be filled with water in past to keep enemies away. This fort preserves many fascinating monuments like Mahal Khas, Kothi Khas, Kishori Mahal and Moti Mahal. A king built Jawahar Bhurj and Fateh Bhurj to commemorate triumphs over the British and the Mughals.
Ganga Temple: The Ganga temple in the heart of the city is one of the most eye-catching temples in Rajasthan. Here the magnificent deity of Ganga Maharani made of pure white marble is placed. During its construction in mid-19th century the king urged all the affluent citizens of the city to donate one month’s earning to help in temple building.
Deeg Water Palace: Known for flamboyant local fairs Deeg is a gorgeous garden town situated in Bharatpur. The highlight of Deeg is a remarkable fort surrounded by gateways and trenches. Its interiors are almost in ruins but the watch tower enclosing a gun quietly keeps watch over the city. This place is renowned for its coloured fountains which are major tourist attractions.
Day 2 : Wildlife Sanctuary
We spend the whole day in Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary.
Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary: This world famous bird sanctuary is now known as Keoladeo National park. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and major tourist attraction which is the shelter of over 370 species of birds. An old temple of Lord Shiva in the centre of the national park is behind naming of this sanctuary. It was also known as the breeding ground for rare Siberian crane. Apart from birds this place is also famous for deer, painted storks, basking python and more.
Laxman temple: Bharatpur preserves two Laxman Temples in the heart of the city. While one of them is almost 4 centuries old, the other is about 300 years old. It was made by the founder of Bharatpur, Maharaja Baldev Singh. It is a stunning sandstone and marble structure.
Day 3 : We Will Begin Our Journey Towards Jaipur. Here We Will See City Palace, Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar
City palace: The magnificent City Palace comprises of majestic state rooms, interesting museums and ornamental gates. We spend 1-2 hours here as there is a lot to see in the palace.
Hawa Mahal: This remarkable building is a multi-windowed, lattice like front of the City Palace. From the small windows the women of the royal family used to peep into daily life without being seen by the common people. The lattice throws up the cool air and provides a constant breeze in the state rooms. Therefore, it is ‘Place of the winds’.
Jantar Mantar: A series of astronomical instruments in the Jantar Mantar is the 3rd sight. The technology used in the past mesmerises the audience. World’s largest sun dial can be seen here. The actual movement of the sun can be realized. Night rest.
Day 4 : We Explore Amer Fort, Jal Mahal and Sun Temple
Amer (Amber) fort: It is the most important fort structure which is situated on a hilltop providing commanding views over the entire region. There are majestic rooms and beautiful symmetrical gardens. It is one of the most significant landmarks of Jaipur.
Water palace: While returning from Amer fort we see the water palace which was constructed as a duck hunting lodge by the King in the 18th century. It looks stunning as appears to be floating on a lake.
Sun temple: In the evening, we watch the sunset over Jaipur from the great Sun Temple. The location provides panoramic views of Jaipur which give an exciting feel.
After exploring major spots we begin back trip to the place of preferred choice.
