Begin with transfer from Ho Chi Minh City to Cai Be where you stroll through a lush tropical orchard and sample fresh seasonal fruits accompanied by a traditional Southern Vietnamese music performance in a local garden. Continue by traditional rowing boat deeper into the countryside along narrow, peaceful canals shaded by coconut palms and tropical vegetation, enjoying the tranquil rural scenery. Return to the main boat and cruise along the Mekong River toward An Binh Island, noted as one of the most beautiful rural areas in the region. Travel along a small handmade canal to Ut Trinh's traditional home where you explore the local surroundings and enjoy a lunch of authentic Mekong Delta specialties including fried elephants ear fish, Mekong spring rolls, steamed shrimp, sour soup with shrimp, chicken cooked with lemongrass, steamed rice and seasonal local fruits. After lunch walk through the village visiting local family workshops to see traditional specialties being made such as rice paper, coconut candy and crispy rice popcorn and sample homemade sweets with a cup of hot tea. An optional cycling experience is available to ride along quiet village paths to observe everyday local life passing orchards, schools, churches, pagodas and traditional houses. Continue to visit traditional brick kilns and pottery workshops to see artisans transform natural clay into bricks and pottery using traditional techniques. The scenic cruise concludes in Vinh Long and participants are transferred back to Ho Chi Minh City at the end of the trip.
