It serves as a base for many treks and leaves one in awe of the mesmerizing views of the mighty Kangchenjunga, the thirst highest mountain in the world. Pelling is another fascinating destination of Sikkim. Equally enchanting is Darjeeling which is popularly known as the queens of hills. It is an enchanting Victorian town famous for its mountain beauty and Buddhist monasteries and temples.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive Bagdogra-Drive to Gangtok

  On arrival at Bagdogra Airport, our localtourrepresentativewillmeetyouatthespecifiedareaandtransferyou to Gangtok (130 kms, approx. 5-6 hours’ drive).
  Gangtok:Atanaltitudeof1750m,Gangtokbecamethestatecapitalinthemid-19thcenturyandhasundergone rapid development since then.The downtownarea is dominatedby huge government buildings decoratedwith traditional Buddhist symbols. Gangtok is also a resting ground for people traveling to North Sikkim. Surrounded by Monasteries and Orchids, Gangtok is truly a traveler’s delight.

• Day 2 : Excursion to Tshangu Lake

  Today morning takea fill at morningbreakfast. Todaywe’ll go for a day excursionto Tshangu Lake(Timingwill depend on the issuance of Permit). Situated at a height of 12,400 feet and an average depth of 50 ft, the lake offersserene andbreathtakingbeautywithsparklingblue water.Beingonsuchaheight,itishighly advisable to carry heavy woollens withyou. It is about 45 kms awayand takes approx.3 hours toreach. Tsomgo/ Tshangu/ ChanguLakeisregardedasaverysacredlakebylocalBuddhistsandHindus.Thelakekeepsfrozenfromwinters to mid May. You can enjoy a yak ride here(on your own expense). Just on the lakeside, visit the Baba Mandir, temple of Lord Shiva built in memory of sepoyHarbhajan Singh. Primula flowers and other alpine plantation provideanimmaculatebeautytothisplace.LaterreturnbacktohotelinGangtokandretireinyourcozybedfor a relaxed sleep.

  Wakeuptowitnesstheawe-strikingnaturalbeautyandchargeyourselfwithmorningbreakfast.LaterCheckout fromthe hotel.Proceedfor halfdaylocalsightseeinginPellingvisitingPemayangtseMonastery,RabtenseRuins and Skywalk. Afternoon drive from Pelling to Darjeeling.
  Darjeelingone of the mostbeautiful and tranquil hill resorts of India.At analtitude of over 2100 m, ‘Dorje Ling’, the place of thunderbolt offersbreathtakingvistas of Mt.Kanchenjunga and other snow peaks.Being about 100 kms away, it takes approx.4-5 hours to reach. Onarrival, check inat hotel andrelax. Later,stepout to explore thenearbyareasandwitnessthealluringlandscapes.Seeitstinywaterfalls,littlequaintvillages,andthefamous oldrailwaytrack.Capturethesunsetviewsofthesnowcappedmountainsandenjoyarelaxedstrollintheworld famous tea gardens. Return to hotel and catch an early sleep as you are required to wakeup very early next morning.

  Today early morning at 3.30 AM, step out to visit Tiger Hill, the famous spot to witness a breathtaking sunrise with amazing colour effects on Mt. Kanchendzonga, world’s third highest peak. When the whole range of snow peaks turns its colour to gold, it is a majestic sight to behold. (Note: The view you get depends totally on the weather on that day.) Later Proceed for Darjeeling sightseeing tour . Rest of the evening is at leisure. You can explore the local markets in this time and later return to hotel for a relaxed sleep.
