Standing on the mammoth-sized hill of Tirumala, Sri Venkateswara Temple is a renowned shrine located in Tirupati. This pious shrine covers a gross area of 2.2 acres and is devoted to Lord Venkateswara, a form of Lord Vishnu. This temple is also regarded as the richest temple in India followed by Shirdi and Vaishno Devi. It is an intricately carved temple and is visited by devotees on a large scale.

Located in the premises of the main shrine, Swami Pushkarini Lake is a holy lake that lies in Tirupati. The tale behind the formation of this lake dates back to the time when Lord Vishnu descended from the heaven on garuda. When garuda felt thirsty, Lord Vishnu created this lake to quench the thirst of his vehicle. Since then, this lake is regarded as sacred and is worship as the Ganga of South.

Akasaganga Teertham is an intriguing small waterfall that is located near the shrine of Sri Venkateswara Temple. It is said that this waterfall was created naturally and has a religious significance. Due to the significance, priests of Sri Venkateswara Temple carried water from this pious waterfall. Also, taking a dip in the waters of Akasaganga Teertham is said to wash sins and opens the gateway to heavens.

Vedadri Narasimha Swamy Temple is another beguiling shrine. This enchanting temple was built during the reign of King Krishna Deva Raya and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. So, we visited enough of shrines and now, its turn for some fun and relaxation. To spend a relaxing day, we will move towards Talakona Waterfall. This waterfall serves as an ideal destination for spending a one-day itinerary away from noises of the city. Talakona Waterfall is like a painting of nature as it is surrounded by lush green surroundings and the white waters spill down from a great height of 270 feet.

The Rock Garden of Tirupati is an amazing destination that holds some inexplicable facts. Legends claim that these rock formations came into existence when Lord Vishnu put his foot at this place. After the research done by geologists, it was confirmed that these rocks belong to an ancient period. Strange!

Japali Teertham is a sacred temple that is located in the dense woods of Tirupati. It is built with white marble and sandstone. Wondering whats special about it? Here it is. According to a legend, after returning from Lanka, Sri Ram, Devi Sita, and Laxman stayed at this place with Hanuman. Moreover, the pond situated close to the shrine is said to be formed when Lord Hanuman kept his mace on the ground.

Standing on the hill of Chandragiri, they were built during the reign of Yadava Naidu clan in the 11th century. If you think that you have committed sins and want to redeem for the same then lets move towards Papavinasanam Dam. Papavinasanam is a Sanskrit word that means redeeming the sin. The water of this lake is regarded as sacred and thus, people take a dip and wash away their sins. Close to the lake stands an enormous dam with the same name. It serves as the place where you can spend a day away from the pollution of the city.
