Bhimashankar, Trimbakeshwar, and Grishneshwar are three revered Jyotirlingas in Maharashtra, forming a major spiritual circuit near Pune/Nashik/Aurangabad. They represent a mix of ancient architecture, natural beauty in the Sahyadris, and profound mythology. These sites are often visited together, typically requiring 2–3 days to cover.

Bhimashankar (Pune District): Known for its dense forests, wildlife sanctuary (Indian Giant Squirrel), and location at the source of the Bhima River. The temple is ancient, associated with Lord Shiva defeating the demon Tripurasura.

Trimbakeshwar (Nashik District): Famous for its unique three-faced lingam (representing Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva). Situated at the source of the Godavari River, it features striking Hemadpanthi architecture.

Grishneshwar (Aurangabad District): Located near the Ellora Caves, this is the 12th and final Jyotirlinga. It is known for its small size, red stone structure, and the story of devotion by Ghushma.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 Mumbai/pune To Trimbakeshwar (nashik)

Morning: Depart early (approx. 5:30 AM) for Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga.

Afternoon: Darshan at the temple, which features a unique three-faced Lingam. Visit Kushavarta Kund (source of the Godavari River).

Evening: Local sightseeing in Nashik (Panchavati, Kalaram Temple).

Stay: Overnight in Nashik or Shirdi.

Day 2 Nashik To Grishneshwar (aurangabad/sambhaji Nagar)

Morning: Proceed to Shirdi for Sai Baba Darshan (optional add-on).

Afternoon: Continue to Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga, the 12th and final Jyotirlinga.

Evening: Visit the nearby UNESCO Ellora Caves (1 km from the temple).

Stay: Overnight in Aurangabad or near Grishneshwar.

Day 3 Grishneshwar To Bhimashankar & Return

Morning: Drive to Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga, situated in the Sahyadri Hills.

Afternoon: Temple Darshan and explore the Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary.

Evening: Return journey to Pune (approx. 3–4 hours) or Mumbai (approx. 5–6 hours) for drop-off.
