Dalhousie »» Dalhousie is the quietest hill station of India. A number of picturesque walks run through the oak, pine and deodar forests around the town and offer excellent views of the Chenab, the Ravi and the Beas valleys. It is thicky wooded with stately pines and oaks and has lovely picnic spots all around. Summer is fairly pleasant, with temperature ranging from 12°C to 25°C. Winters are cold. In winter, temperature remains between as low as 2°C to 10°C.

Dharamshala: Dharamshala is a city in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by cedar forests on the edge of the Himalayas, this hillside city is home to the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government-in-exile. The Thekchen Chöling Temple Complex is a spiritual center for Tibetan Buddhism, while the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives houses thousands of precious manuscripts.

Shashi picked us up from the Dharamsala airport on our very first day in India and was very helpful and kind to us during our stay. The second day we left for Amritsar and spent the whole day with Shashi (5 hours each direction)... he managed to put up with two chit chatty Americans for about 15 hours that day and we appreciate him for that. He made sure we stopped at good restaurants and that we got into the Golden Temple no problem. He also took us sightseeing around Dharamsala on our third day and returned us to the airport on our final day. We would definitely recommend his help for any Americans traveling to India.
