Package Overview

‘The Elephant Playground,’ as Tarangire is sometimes called, provides a spectacular destination for a memorable day-trip. Huge herds of elephant are a distinctive feature of Tarangire, but the grassland, swamps and floodplains found here are home to big cats, zebras, giraffes, hyenas, wart-hogs, buffalos, baboons and hippo – plus many, many more species. Tree-climbing lions and rock pythons are other local specialties.
The park will also be a treat for bird enthusiasts. More than 550 bird species abiding in the Tarangire National Park present ample opportunity for bird watching: brightly plumaged yellow necked spurfowls, white crowned shrikes and black necked weavers are among the most frequent sightings here.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arusha - Tarangire National Park – Arusha

  With an early pick from your Arusha hotel at 01.00, our two-hour drive will take us the 120km to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s real treasures. You spend as much time as possible at the park, marvelling at all its wonderful wildlife with the assistance and expert knowledge of your Alaitol Safaris driver-guide. Pause for a picnic lunch, and then continue through the park on an afternoon game drive: When your afternoon game drive concludes, At 16.00, we set off from the park to reach Arusha and finish the day with drop-off at your hotel by 18.00.
