Funzi bay is located at the south coast, thirty five kilometers south of Diani Beach. Start the adventurous trip in a motor canoe along River Ramisi. River Ramisi is known for its natural attractions, bird-life and sometimes a crocodile here and there. We will stop at the river bank for a swimming episode and enjoyable sunbathing at the site. Make sure you have your swimming costumes with you. A sunscreen will help as well. Later, visit a village at the Island and meet the locals of Funzi. Take a break at Funzi Mangrove Resort for lunch. Enjoy our sea food meals specially prepared to leave you wanting for more. The meals are specially prepared in Swahili style and include the day’s catch, grilled lobster, crab and more accompaniments. Get special menu for children and vegetarians. This should be ordered a day before. Funzi is one of the kenya South Coast Islands and located a few kilometers from Bodo Village. This is a perfect choice for day excursions and sunset trips along Ramisi river and the mangrove forest for great attractions. The endangered species of Sea Turtles are a pride attraction for Kenya at Funzi Island since the habitation is secluded allowing their survival. During low tide, the sand banks are a wonderful attraction for people to spend the day sunbathing and swimming but the activity is cut short when the high tide returns. Funzi Island consists of Mangrove habitats where a boat ride provides access to shallow fishing and bird watching. Funzi Island is near the Pemba Channel where one can take a boat trip for deep sea fishing. The Ramisi River is just nearby and boat tour will give the best excursion ever up the stream.
