Cheeyappara Waterfalls
Located on the Kochi-Madurai Highway (National Highway 49), the Cheeyarappa Falls is an on-the-way tourist attraction. It falls between Munnar and Kochi, in the district of Idukki, Kerala. One of the largest waterfalls in the state (which is also known as God's own country), the Cheyyappara Falls are a sight to behold.

Cascading through seven tiers of stones, these falls are a force of nature that you can not only see and experience but dip your toes into and enjoy. The surroundings of the waterfall complement its opulent natural splendour. Evergreen forests stretch out for as much as two acres around the falls, making it an active adventure and trekking spot. Several species of exotic plants and animals can be found in the neighbouring area, enclosed in the casket of a dense forest.

Valara Waterfalls
Situated between Adimali and Neriamangalam, Valara Waterfalls is one of the most enchanting and amazing tourist spots in this region. Valara, which comprises a chain of waterfalls surrounded by lush green forests, is home to a variety of animals and birds is situated 42 km away from Munnar. The flawless look, fabulous views and the gushing waterfall makes it a place definitely worth visiting. It is the best tourist destination for visitors especially for all the nature lovers, aspiring photographers, romantic getaway.

Eravikulam National Park
Located 45 - minute drive away from Munnar, the Eravikulam National Park (also known as Rajamalai Wildlife Sanctuary), houses a rich and diverse variety of flora and fauna and is a UNESCO world heritage site. Elephant, Nilgiri langur, Nilgiri marten, Atlas moth (largest in the world), lion-tailed macaque, small clawed otter, and a rare tiger or leopard are some of the main animal species that can be spotted here. It was declared a national park in 1978.

Point to remember: Eravikulam national park is closed in February and March Tea museum is closed on Mondays.

Munnar Tea Plantations
Perched at several feet over the sea level and boasting of misty skies above and green carpeted fields below, these splendid Tea gardens in Munnar are a must-visit for every traveller. Sprawling over vast acres of lands, the umpteen tea plantations are sure to lure you with their bewitching beauty and charm.

Rose Garden
The Rose Gardens of Munnar is spread over 2 acres of land, is an excellent stretch that is brimming with a variety of plants, including spices, crops like cardamom and vanilla, and a variety of other fruit trees. These agricultural plantations exude mesmerising and wonderful aromas, which make your stay at the gardens a rewarding experience. Located near the National Highway 49, just two kilometres away from the city centre; the place is set 3,500 feet above the sea level and is a breathtaking sight to behold. The heart warming blossoms and colourful flowers make the place a mini-heaven on earth. Even though the garden is known as the 'Rose Garden', a variety of other plants and trees can also be found here. The area is covered with crops such as vanilla and cardamom. It is also the dwelling spot of many spices and fruit trees such as Litchi, Strawberry, Rumbuta and Amla. An equally large variety of flowering plants can be located here. Seasonal tropical fruits grow here all year long, and fresh vegetables and fruits like cabbage, potato, cauliflowers, bananas and beans can be obtained from the plantations farm. You can also buy seeds of flowering plants from here to go back and grow as a memoir of this charming place.

Tea Museum
Located in the Nallathanni Estate of Tata Tea around 2 km from Munnar. The KDHP Museum showcases a variety of antiquities, the most famous being the burial urn excavated from the vicinity of Periakanal Estate, dating back to the 2nd century AD. A 30-minute documentary feature by the museum will take you through a historical sojourn of the place. Visitors then proceed to the factory to understand how tea is processed. Pothamedu View Point Pothamedu View Point, situated 5 km off Munnar, is adorned with stretching hills and lush green mountains. One can witness the spectacular wide views of tea, coffee and cardamom plantations of the area. It is an ideal place to witness beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Idukki Arch Dam which is about 60 kms away is visible from this viewpoint on a clear day,

Transfer to Thekkady. Today you can understand more about the spices by visiting the Green Park Spice Plantation. Spices Plantation offers a chance to sync with nature. It provides a natural and silent atmosphere which enhances fresh breathe and a pleasure mind. This is 100% eco friendly including with farm, honey bee colony, natural fish aquarium, artificial paddy field, suspension bridge, cardamom processing unit, fruit plantation, green house for vegetables, etc.

Jewish Synagogue - Also known as Paradesi Synagogue or Mattancherry Synagogue, Cochin Jewish Synagogue is the oldest active synagogue, not just in Kochi but in the Commonwealth of Nations. Located in the Jew Town area of Kochi, the synagogue was constructed in 1567 and is one of the seven synagogues of the Malabar Yehudan or Yehudan Mappila.

Jewish town
Jew Town is one of the oldest parts of the region. It was here that the Jews first settled in India in around 700 BC and were here till they moved to Israel;. This part is famous for its architecturally solid synagogue that continues to stand till today. It is a series of narrow alleys between Mattancherry Palace and Paradesi Synagogue.

Mattancherry Palace
A palace constructed by the Portuguese, known in the name of the Dutch and used only by the rulers of Kochi, the Mattancherry Dutch Palace in Fort Kochi has an interesting past. It is one of the most visited places in the city and is located around 12km from Ernakulam city.

Built around 1545 C.E. by the Portuguese as a present to King Veera Kerala Verma of the Kochi dynasty, the Mattancherry Palace is also well renowned as the Dutch Palace for it was the Dutch who later did renovations to the structure. A brilliant example of how the traditional Kerala style of architecture was affected by the colonial influences, this palace was used by the rulers of Kochi to conduct official ceremonies like coronations and so on.

Visiting Hours: 10:00 A.M. - 05:00 P.M. on all days except Fridays.
