Mount Kenya - Up Sirimon/down Chogoria Tour

After breakfast we will pick you up from your Nairobi Hotel and depart for Nanyuki town, arriving in time for lunch. This afternoon will be spent acclimatizing and organizing any gear you may require for the trek. Dinner and overnight is at a Budget Hotel.

After breakfast, we drive to Sirimon Park Gate where we will begin the hike to Old Moses Hut for the first overnight on Mt. Kenya. The hike takes about 3 hours, by passing Tropical Rain Forest and Bamboo sections, lunch en-route. The altitude here is 3,300M. Dinner and overnight is at The Hut.

After breakfast, we hike to Shipton’s which is at about 4,200M above the sea level. Walking time is 5 to 7 hours depending on your individual fitness level with a picnic lunch stop-over half way through the walk. Dinner and overnight is at the Shipton’s Huts.

A pre-dawn attempt of Point Lenana Peak. This early start is intended to prepare you enough for the final climb. The day is then spent at leisure inclusive of lunch, with dinner and overnight at Shiptons Hut.

Wake Up to a Pre-dawn Attempt of Pt. Lenana; 4985m Above the Sea Level. with Good Visibility and the Weather is Clear, You May See Mount Kilimanjaro to the South, Mt. Elgon to the West and Even the Indian Ocean to the East. After Your Photography and Viewing Opportunities, Surrounded By Glaciers and Ice Rock Caves, Descend to Mintos Hut On the Chogoria Trail for a Full Breakfast Then Down to Meru Mt. Kenya for Dinner and Overnight in Tents. (at An Extra Cost, You May Upgrade Your Accommodation and Spend the Night At the Meru Mt. Kenya Bandas Subject to Their Room Availability).

After Breakfast Descend to Chogoria Town, Which is a 32kms Walk. (halfway Down, You May Take Transport for 16kms to the Town At Extra Costs). Lunch is in Chogoria Then Departure Back for Nairobi
