Mt. Kenya Trek Tour

Leave Nairobi at 8.00 am to Nanyuki, which normally takes 4 to 5 hrs drive,arriving Nanyuki at
10.30 then proceed to Mt Kenya National Park Sirimon gate where you will have your picnic
lunch.After lunch, follow the track uphill for 9km,through the rain forest to reach Old Moses
camp which is situated at 3,300m. The ascent from Sirimon gate to Old Moses is
690m.Dinner/overnight.

Meals & Drinks : Full board

After breakfast, leave at 8.00 am, follow the direct route,until you reach the junction which
which goes to Likki North after one hour,from here the track becomes a path,and swings right
and south round the head of a large valley, crossing several small streams to reach the crest of
the ridge between the Otulili and Liki North Valleys,then into Mackinders valley ,continue walking un till you get to Shiptons camp 4250m ,dinner/overnight (it normally takes 6-7 hrs
from Old Moses to Shiptons).

Wake up at 2.30 at night where you will have tea and biscuits,then leave to the summit.This
section is a long, hard slog, and the path is indistinct in places. Continue walking across the
scree,until you come across Square tarn.From here continue up the south face of Point Lenana
4,985m reaching the summit at 6.30 in the morning for sunrise then descend down to Shiptons
camp for breakfast and then after breakfast, continue walking down to Old Moses camp via
Mackinders Valley. It will take 5 hours to reach the Moses camp 3,300m where you will have
lunch,dinner/overnight.

After breakfast,leave at 8.00 am down to Sirimon gate,this is a nice walk through the equatorial
rain forest.The walk normally takes 2hrs, then meet up with your transport back to Nairobi
