Wake early in Nairobi and meet at 7:00am for a safari briefing before driving to Wilson Airport for a scheduled flight to Amboseli. The flight is approximately 45 minutes to Amboseli National Park. Upon arrival at the airstrip you will be met by a driver guide who will transfer you to Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge while enjoying a short game drive. After lunch at the lodge you will depart for a late afternoon game drive across Amboseli plains and wetlands, with opportunities to view elephants, hippos and other wildlife often framed by views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Rise early for breakfast and head out for a full day of game drives in Amboseli National Park. Travel in safari vehicles with pop up roof hatches for 360 degree viewing, encountering resident Burchells zebras, Thomson's and Grants gazelles, buffalo, warthog, Maasai giraffe, impala, water buck and dik-dik. Expect sightings of primates such as baboons and vervet monkeys and carnivores including lions, spotted hyenas, wild cats, jackals, caracals and cheetahs. Birding is excellent with more than 400 species recorded including pelican, flamingo, kingfisher, African fish eagle, ibis, secretary bird, crowned crane, grey and Goliath herons and many others. Enjoy a final early morning game drive in Amboseli before returning to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast you will transfer to the airstrip to catch your return flight to Nairobis Wilson Airport, bringing the safari to an end. The tour concludes on arrival in Nairobi.
