On 10th September 2026 you will arrive in Nairobi Kenya and be warmly welcomed by the Treecreeper Safaris Safari Director and your driver guide who will transfer you to your hotel. This first day is designed to allow you to relax and recharge in Kenyas capital after your journey. Accommodation for the night is at Villa Rosa Kempinski with a bed and breakfast meal plan.
On 11th September 2026 after breakfast you will depart Nairobi for the Masai Mara National Reserve. The road journey traverses changing Kenyan landscapes including the Great Rift Valley escarpment and the rolling grasslands of Narok County before reaching the Mara ecosystem. Upon arrival you will check in to your selected safari lodge and have lunch then later in the afternoon embark on your first game drive which provides an introduction to the reserve and opportunities to view elephants buffaloes giraffes zebras gazelles wildebeest and diverse birdlife. September is within the period when the Great Migration may be present which can lead to sightings of large herds though specific river crossings cannot be guaranteed. The day ends with dinner and overnight at Mara Simba Lodge or similar on a full board basis.
On 12th September 2026 after an early breakfast depart with a packed picnic lunch for a full day game drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Early starts maximize wildlife sightings when temperatures are cooler and animals are active. The guide will select the route based on recent sightings road conditions and information about migratory herd locations. The day focuses on open plains and areas where wildebeest and zebra concentrate offering excellent Great Migration observation opportunities and predator viewing. Picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a designated location before continuing the afternoon drive which may include areas around the Mara River Talek River and other productive zones. Return to lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight on full board.
On 13th September 2026 begin with an early morning game drive to experience the Mara in soft morning light which is excellent for photography and wildlife activity including predators that may still be active after night hunting. The drive will explore areas frequented by elephants giraffes topi impala zebra and wildebeest. Return to the lodge for a late breakfast or brunch followed by relaxation time to enjoy lodge facilities photography or arranging a guided Maasai cultural experience subject to availability. Later in the afternoon head out for another game drive exploring alternative sections of the Mara ecosystem to seek different wildlife and landscapes. After sunset return to the lodge for dinner and overnight on full board.
On 14th September 2026 the day is dedicated to extended exploration of the Masai Mara with particular attention to the Mara River and surrounding wildlife areas. After an early breakfast depart with a packed lunch and spend much of the day in the reserve observing riverine wildlife such as hippos crocodiles birds and terrestrial animals that use the river. The guide will monitor migratory herd movements and decide whether to spend time at potential crossing areas since September is a strong migration month though crossings are not guaranteed. After a picnic lunch continue game drives through diverse habitats with opportunities to see lions cheetahs hyenas large herds of plains game and varied birdlife. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon or early evening for dinner relaxation and overnight on full board.
On 15th September 2026 begin with an early morning safari focused on the Masas famous predator populations using the guides knowledge of recent sightings and animal behaviour to locate promising areas. The morning may also reveal resident wildlife such as elephants buffaloes giraffes zebras topi impalas and gazelles. Return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation then enjoy lunch and leisure time before an afternoon game drive. Guests may consider a hot air balloon safari on this or another suitable morning subject to availability weather and additional cost. The day concludes with dinner and overnight at the lodge on full board.
On 16th September 2026 after breakfast depart for another full day safari with a packed lunch. By this stage the guide will have an improved understanding of wildlife movements and will plan the route around recent sightings while remaining flexible given the migratory herds natural unpredictability. The main objective is to experience the Mara plains locate concentrations of wildebeest and zebra photograph wildlife and landscapes and observe inter species interactions. Picnic lunch is enjoyed in a designated area followed by afternoon exploration of quieter reserve sections searching for elephants big cats and other wildlife before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight on full board.
On 17th September 2026 after breakfast check out and begin your transfer from the Masai Mara to Nairobi. Transfers can be by safari vehicle offering opportunities for brief en route stops and countryside views or by scheduled or private flight for a faster departure subject to selection. Arrange transfer timing to coordinate with onward flights or hotel arrangements to ensure sufficient transfer time. On arrival in Nairobi the package concludes with drop off at the airport marking the end of the Masai Mara safari experience which included extensive game drives potential Great Migration sightings predator observations scenic landscapes and cultural opportunities.
