8 Day Wilderness Safari with Walking Expedition

Arrival in Arusha with greeting and trip briefing. After arrival you will receive a trip briefing and an introduction to the safari program. Spend time exploring Arusha, a gateway city for northern Tanzania safaris, enjoying local restaurants and vibrant city life. Accommodation is at Gold Crest Hotel Arusha with breakfast provided. Key highlights include arrival formalities, city orientation and staying centrally at Gold Crest Hotel which offers an onsite restaurant and swimming pool.

Day trip to Arusha National Park focused on scenery and a walking safari. Arusha National Park offers varied birdlife, giraffe, zebra and buffalo and scenic highlights including the volcanic cone of Mt Meru and the Ngurdoto Crater. The day features a walking safari where you leave the vehicle and explore on foot with an experienced guide. Meals provided are breakfast, lunch and dinner. Accommodation is at Gold Crest Hotel Arusha.

Transfer to Tarangire National Park with a focus on wildlife viewing and a walking safari. Tarangire is home to large baobab trees, many elephants, and a wide variety of mammals including lions, cheetahs, leopards, wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffalo and zebras. The day includes a walking safari that offers a close connection to wildlife and scenery. Meals provided are breakfast, lunch and dinner. Accommodation is at Tarangire Safari Lodge, a tented camp inside Tarangire National Park with panoramic views.

Activities around Ngorongoro Conservation with walking options and travel through scenic landscapes. The program includes morning safari type activities, then heading toward the Serengeti gate area for lunch and continuing to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with panoramic views en route. The day emphasizes leaving behind the vehicle for guided walks that are conducted with safety by an experienced guide. Meals provided are breakfast, lunch and dinner. Accommodation is at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge with crater rim views.

Full day visit to Ngorongoro Crater, a spectacular natural amphitheatre with extraordinary wildlife and unique landscapes. Explore the crater floor which contains forests, hippo filled lakes, a salt pan, hyena dens and diverse wildlife such as lions, hyenas, elephants, black rhinos, flamingos and golden jackals. Experience otherworldly views as morning mist can roll over the crater rim. Meals provided are breakfast, lunch and dinner. Accommodation is at Mberesero lodge and tented camp.

Travel into the Serengeti National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for large and diverse wildlife populations. While in the Serengeti expect opportunities to see leopards along dry riverbanks, cheetahs on the grasslands, elephants, giraffes, antelopes and large lion prides as well as potentially witnessing migratory herds. Meals provided are breakfast, lunch and dinner. Accommodation is at Mberesero lodge and tented camp in the Serengeti.

Return to Arusha for a final night in the city with an opportunity to relax and further explore urban highlights. Arusha offers restaurants, energetic streets and local city life. Accommodation is Four Points by Sheraton Arusha which provides gym, pool and comfortable rooms. Meal plan for this day is not specified in detail in the proposal.

Departure day with transfer to the airport. The safari draws to a close and you will be transferred to the airport for onward travel. There is no accommodation provided on this day. This marks the end of the 8 day safari experience.
