Bhrigu Lake is one of the most prominent, scenic lakes located in the Manali region at an altitude of 4,240 metres. The lake is nestled amid the Great Himalayas and its banks are believed to be the site where Maharishi Bhrigu, one of the seven renowned sages of the Hindu religion, meditated. It is also believed that this was the site where he wrote the Bhrigu Samhita, an astrological manuscript with predictions of the future and records of the past. The trail takes you through beautiful meadows and dense forests of fir, oak and pine trees, which makes this trek a truly rewarding experience. It is suitable for all age groups and is considered an easy trek.
On arrival in Manali in the morning, meet our representative who will be there to transfer you to your already booked hotel in Manali. The rest of the day is free at leisure where in you can visit Hadimba Devi Temple, old Manali, Tibetan Monastery and the mall. An overnight stay in the hotel.
We all meet at the Ram Bagh Chowk near the Mall road. Just about 20 minutes head out the village of Kulang is positioned, from where our trek commences. As we depart from the beautiful valley, behind we get picturesque views of Manali and the forest all around. We proceed to Moji Dugh, on an ongoing trail, through the forests of Deodar, Oak and Pine. Our first camping site is in an open space in this amazing forest.
Today, we will commence our trek after breakfast. The trail ascends progressively and will take you on the top of the tree line. See spectacular views of the striking Manali valley and astonishing peaks like Shikharbeh, Hanuman Tibba, and Makarbeh among others. We will camp in the towering altitude meadow of Theli. Covered with all over with snow ahead of schedule in the season it is like a widespread blanket of blossoming wild flowers as the spring arrives.
The trail ascends gradually before a minuscule, steep climb to the lake. Walk on to the expansive Bhrigu ridge and get amazing panoramic perspective of the Kalihani Pass, Makarbeh, Hanuman Peak, Shakarbeh, and the Manali pass to the West, the Friendship, the Rohtang ridge to the north, Shitidhar Massif to the North - West and Hampta to the East.
The last day of the trail is a steep descent through the deodar, chestnut and pine forests into the village of Vashisht. It is known for the hot water springs; it is the perfect final destination to end the trek with relaxing bath for long. By the evening, we head back to Manali where the trek ends.
