The journey was smooth in a comfortable Tempo Traveller, and the weather in Manali was pleasantly cool (10°C to 22°C).     Hello, Kamal! We really loved our time in Ladakh, Kamal. Our guide, Dorjay, was really a kind and very patient, dear man. I would definitely go back there again...and our stay at the Hotel Dragon was great, such lovely people working there, all from Nepal, too. Dharamsala was really different from what I was expecting. I loved our hotel. We didn't know we had to have our suitcases carried all the way up this hill! That was a surprise. Manali was also another surprise. I have to say I was quite disappointed with it and we didn't find it very interesting at all. I thought there would be only old style houses (like in old Manali) there! We did meet up with two people who were really good friends of friends though, so that was lovely. The Mayflower Hotel was nice...so much better than the John Bannon's Guest House And Shimla...our hotel there was really fascinating. Old and curious... ...more
