Kaziranga - Meghalaya Tour 8N - 9D

Start the journey with your arrival at the Guwahati station/airport, get greeted and straightaway get transferred to Kamakhya Temple. After devoting some quality time in the temple, we will depart for Kaziranga, which is a 4–5 hours journey from Guwahati. After arrival, we will check in the hotel and retire for the night. Early morning, we will take you for an exciting elephant safari. Feel the gratifying pleasure in an early morning elephant safari across the Central/Western range of the National Park at 5:30 A.M. or 6:30 A.M. Meet the pride of India, the great Asian one-horned Rhinos with wild Buffalo, Tiger, Elephant, variety of Deer, Python and variety of migratory birds, water birds, predators, scavengers and game birds, etc. Then we will go for a local sightseeing including renowned lush green tea gardens of Assam. After lunch, we will go for jeep safari at the Central/Western range of the national park for another dose of adventure into the jungle. In the evening, visit the Orchid Park where you can enjoy the local folk dance called “BIHU”. Finally, drop you at your hotel. (Note: Elephant Safari is subject to availability.) Early morning after breakfast, we head for Shillong. It takes around 7–8 hours to reach this gorgeous hill station. On the way, visit the Maha Mrityunjay Temple, which is renowned as the world’s largest Shiva Linga. The mammoth size of the Shiva Linga mesmerizes the visitors. Then continue your drive, drop by the Borapani Lake in the state of Meghalaya, also known as the Umiam Lake. It is beautifully surrounded by Sylvan hills. Overnight stay at Shillong. After breakfast, set off for Cherrapunji, well known for receiving one of the highest rainfall in the world. Cherrapunjee is locally known as Sohra and is situated at a distance of 56 kms from Shillong. On the way, we will be visiting the Shillong Peak, located in the Upper Shillong, from where one can see the beauty of Shillong city under the clouds, giving a perfect picturesque view of the city. After a while, we head to the Elephanta Falls. The water of this three-step falls comes down in flows from different levels over the fern-covered rocks and falls into the canyon down below. Then visit the Mawkdok Valley, which is a very prominent sightseeing for tourists. Then on the way, we visit the Nohsngithiang Falls (Seven Sisters Falls), which is known to be the symbol of the Unity of the Seven States of North East India. Later than we visit the Mawsmai Cave, a major crowd puller that leaves tourists spellbound. After trekking in the majestic cave, we move for Eco Park, which hosts several hybrid and indigenous orchids. It also offers a breathtaking view of distant Sylhet Plains of neighboring Bangladesh. In the morning, get ready to explore the Mawlynnong Village. Mawlynnong Village, located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred as ‘God’s Own Garden’, has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. Visit the Living Root Bridge in the nearby village of Riwai. The village also offers a sight of natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock. From Mawlynnong, one can see the Indo-Bangladesh Border. After some time, we travel for Dawki in the East Jaintia Hills. On arrival is the Umngot River, where the water is crystal clear and is said to be one of the clearest rivers in India. The journey from Mawlynnong to Dawki is thrilling and scenic as we pass through lush green valleys and waterfalls peddling down from every corner of the hills. Situated in the Amlarem Civil Sub-Division in Jowai, Meghalaya, Krang Suri is a spectacular waterfall that provides an amazing bird's eye view of the entire location. No nature lover and adventure enthusiast can afford to miss this breathtaking milky white waterfall, which is a tourist's delight. This entire region is studded with visuals that take one's breath away, and its app visit the Laitlum Canyons, nestled in the embrace of majestic hills and valleys, in one such spot from where the vast, verdant and fascinating Meghalaya could be viewed and admired. In the morning after the breakfast, we will take a day trip of Shillong. First we will visit the Don Bosco Museum, where one can see the historical monuments of the ancient Meghalaya culture. Then our journey comes to one of the most romantic places in Shillong, the Ward's Lake, located in the heart of the city, which was built by the British councils and is a prominent hang-out place in Meghalaya. Then visit the Lady Hydri Park. This place gives you a combination of Park-Zoo-Botanical Garden. Then visit the Sacred Forest, Mawphlang, which showcases the cultural beauty of the Meghalaya tradition. Then you are free to visit the local market for shopping. Overnight stay at Shillong. In the morning after the breakfast, you will be transferred to Guwahati, where on arrival we will visit the Umananda Temple (World’s Smallest River Island), which is situated in the heart of the Brahmaputra River.
