We Leave Early and Climb Immediately Towards Rohtang Pass – the Gateway to the Heart of Himalayas. After a Brief Stopover At the Pass We Descend Down to the Green Valley of Lahaul. Driving On the Banks of the Raging Chandra River We Pass Through the Beautiful Towns of Sissu and Keylong and Reach Jispa for Overnight Stay.

We Start Very Early as We Embark On a Breathtaking Journey Through Trans Himalayas. We Cross Several High Passes Enroute – Baralacha La, Nakee La, Lachung La and Tanglang La Driving Through the Wild Desolate Valleys and Vast Plains of Sarchu, Pang and Morey.

Today We Head Downstream of Sutlej to See Magnetic Hill – a Place Where Vehicle Drives Uphill On His Own, Zanksar-indus Confluence and Ancient Monastery of Phyang.

Our Drive Takes You Over the World’s Highest Motorable Road At Khardung La to Enter Nubra Valley. We Visit the Large Buddha Statue At Diskit Monastery and Continue to the Sand Dunes of Hunder. Double Humped Bactrian Camels are the Specialty of Hunder.

We Drive Further West Towards Pakistan Border to Visit Turtuk – the Northern Most Village of India and the Last Village An Indian Civilian Can Visit Before Pakistan. Turtuk – Captured from Pakistan By Indian Troops in 1971 is a Whole Different World Compared to Rest of Ladakh – Geographically and Culturally.

We Head Upstream of Shayok River On Rocky River Beds Till We Reach the Village of Shayok. from Here We Head Towards Durbuk, Tangtse to Witness the Pristine Blue Waters of Pangong Lake.

From Pangong we head to another jewel of the high Himalayas – the Tso Moriri lake. A smaller lake compared to Pangong but the lush green grasslands along its shores provide a beautiful contrast to the deep blue waters.
