Tibet Lhasa City Tour

On the first day of your tour; you will arrive in the city of Lhasa either by train or by airport. On reaching here, you will be welcomed by our escort who will take you to the hotel where you will stay for rest of the trip. (You will be welcomed with Hot Tea /coffee on arrival). Take rest here and enjoy the scenic beauty from hotel room. Dinner shall be served in the hotel only.

On the second day of the tour, we will take you to the prominent places of the city. The first destination is Potala Palace. Tibet which is Autonomous region of China; has marked this place as the one religious places. It’s the place from where the 14th Dalai Lama fled to India during 1959 Tibetan uprising. Today it s considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The 2nd place is Jokhang Monastery – the most sacred temple in Tibet. What is good to see here is the combination of Indian Vihara design, Chinese Tang Dynasty and Nepalese design pained and carved on the walls of this temple. After lunch we shall take you to Drak Yerpa which is basically the spiritual axis’s of Lhasa. It’s built on a nearby hillside and has got more than 80 meditation caves. For night stay and dinner we shall go back to the hotel.

Soon after breakfast next morning, we will catch up to see Drepung Monastery. It’s the biggest Buddhist College in Tibet and was once home to 10,000 monks. Today, it is recognised as one the “3 Great University Monastries of Tibet”. It emphasises teaching of Traditional Geographical Affiliations in its studies. After lunch we shall see three other places – Ramoche Temple (2nd most important monastery having strong Tang architecture influence), Norbulingka (considered World Cultural Heritage Site till 2001 is the biggest man made gardens of Tibet) and Nuchung (Natural beauty filled village).

On the last day of the tour we shall see you off to the airport/railway station. For those who have an afternoon flight can see more of the local market.
