4 Night - 5 Days Thorn Tree Safari Tour

Welcome to Kenya! You will be met at the airport by our friendly driver who will transport you to The Eka Hotel where light refreshments will be waiting. After you are feeling refreshed you will be introduced to your driver-guide and taken through a short safari briefing to ensure you are properly prepared for your exciting safari.
Your safari begins as you leave the city and head for the hills of the Aberdares range. You will arrive in time for lunch at Aberdare Country Club before taking in some scenery as you head to The Ark Lodge (190km). This lodge, inspired by Noah's Ark and designed to resemble a ship, offers a unique wildlife viewing experience. It is strategically positioned near to a salt lick and overlooking a waterhole, which attracts a variety of animals, including elephants, lions, and numerous bird species. One of the lodge's highlights is its special night viewing feature, allowing guests to observe the waterhole under the cover of darkness. For an enhanced experience, guests can request to be notified if a specific animal appears at the waterhole during the night.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast after watching animals at the waterhole. Then it's time to bid The Ark Lodge goodbye and head out on the next leg of your safari. Stop and take photos as you cross the equator en route to your lodge at Lake Naivasha. Your driver-guide will give you some interesting facts about the landscape you will see as you enter the Great Rift Valley and descend to Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake teeming with hippos, and home to over 500 species of birds.
After settling in to your lodge you will have the afternoon at leisure giving you opportunities to go for a walk during which you might spot giraffes, zebras, waterbuck and, if you are lucky maybe some eland or wildebeests.

After breakfast your vehicle will be ready to take you on to the Legendary Masai Mara National Reserve (270km).
As you travel keep a sharp eye out to see if you can spot any animals or birds during the drive. Upon reaching your lodge, lunch will be waiting.
As you head out on an afternoon game drive your Attwood driver-guide will impress you with their in-depth understanding of the Mara's ecosystem. You'll be lead on an exhilarating journey to spot Africa's iconic `big five' - lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos - alongside numerous other fascinating creatures, both large and small, in one of the globe's most thrilling game viewing destinations.

Immerse yourself in the wonders of the Mara on an early morning game drive as the African bush awakens, followed by a delicious breakfast at the lodge and some free time to relax. After lunch, set out again to explore the Mara's incredible wildlife and breathtaking landscapes.

Experience the magic of the Mara from a whole new perspective with an unforgettable early morning hot air balloon flight. Soar above the vast plains as the sun rises, casting golden hues over the landscape teeming with wildlife. Continue your adventure with a scenic game drive en route back to your lodge, where a delectable lunch awaits to complete your extraordinary morning.

After breakfast, return to Nairobi by road (300 km), or fly from the Masai Mara to Nairobi: morning flight (price on request).

Flights to Zanzibar, Mauritius, the Seychelles or Maldives via Nairobi are also possible (price on request).
