Enjoy the beautiful views of mountains, rivers, and valleys along the way. Upon arrival in Srinagar, check in to your hotel or houseboat near Dal Lake. In the evening you can relax or enjoy an optional Shikara ride on Dal Lake. Dinner and overnight stay in Srinagar.

The drive takes around 2.5 to 3 hours, passing through scenic Kashmiri villages like Ganderbal, Kangan, and Gund, with the beautiful Sindh River flowing alongside much of the route. You’ll arrive in Sonmarg by mid-morning, where you can enjoy a light breakfast or tea before beginning your local sightseeing. The main attraction is the stunning Thajiwas Glacier, which you can reach via a short pony ride or a light trek through lush meadows and pine forests. Spend time enjoying the snow (even in summer), exploring waterfalls, and taking in the views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. After your glacier visit, return to the town area for lunch at a local restaurant or hotel. In the afternoon, if time and weather permit, consider a drive further up the Zoji La road towards Zero Point, a high-altitude snow spot about 30–35 km from Sonmarg, known for dramatic mountain views and snow even in warmer months (note that this road may require special permits or army clearance depending on the season). Upon arrival mid-morning, you can take a ride on the famous Gulmarg Gondola, one of the highest cable cars in the world, which will take you up to Apharwat Peak—offering stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayas and, depending on the season, opportunities for skiing or hiking. Spend time exploring the meadows, visiting the Gulmarg Biosphere Reserve, or enjoying a walk on the highest golf course in Asia.
