Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Nairobi

  Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), you will be warmly met by our representative for a meet and greet and transferred to your city hotel for check-in. Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the hotel or explore nearby attractions and restaurants in Westlands. This first evening gives you time to rest and prepare for the exciting safari ahead.
  Nairobi is a fascinating introduction to modern Kenyan life, with its fine restaurants, hotels, bars and nightclubs. You'll also have the chance to enjoy some excellent museums, wildlife attractions, markets and shops, which offer a deeper understanding of the country. This, along with the parks and reserves, makes a Kenyan safari such a wonderful experience.

• Day 2 : Samburu National Reserve

  We think you'll fall in love with Samburu National Reserve at first sight. It's a fantastic reserve that doesn't get the crowds you sometimes see in Kenya's south. The reserve is well-stocked with predators, including lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena, with sightings of elephant, giraffe, hippo and zebra also common. It's a chance to see some northern animals that are hard to see elsewhere, including Somali ostrich, gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, beisa oryx and reticulated giraffe. Fabulous scenery and nearly 400 bird species too.
  Evening Game Drive, Samburu National Reserve You'll love the warm light and cooler temperatures as we take you out to explore on your evening game drive. This time of day is when both predators and prey are most active and it can feel as though anything could happen at any moment. This is when you'll most enjoy being on safari.

• Day 3 : Samburu National Reserve

  Spend a full day exploring the Samburu ecosystem with both morning and afternoon game drives. The reserve’s contrasting landscapes dry scrubland, rocky outcrops, and riverine forest create dramatic scenery and excellent photo opportunities. Between drives, relax at your lodge and enjoy the serene atmosphere by the river, where elephants often gather to drink.
  Early Morning Game Drive, Samburu National Reserve
  Imagine being out in the soft, early morning light, wrapped in a blanket, just as the animals emerge from their night’s rest or from the shadows of their nighttime adventures. The world feels fresh and new on an early morning game drive, the sun has yet to beat down upon the earth, and it may end up being your favorite time to be out on safari.

• Day 4 : Lake Nakuru National Park

  After breakfast, depart Samburu and drive south through Kenya’s central highlands, passing tea and coffee plantations along the way. You’ll arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch at your lodge.
  You're in for a real treat when you visit Lake Nakuru National Park. It's one of the best places anywhere for seeing both black and white rhinos, but there are other highlights as well, including the possibility of seeing lions (some even climb trees here), leopards, flamingos and endangered Rothschild's giraffes. Rich birdlife, pretty acacia forests, and a towering escarpment overlooking the lake all add to the natural drama.
  Evening Game Drive, Lake Nakuru National Park Going on an evening game drive is one of the highlights of any safari. This is when temperatures cool, the light becomes softer and the wildlife begins to get active. Not only will you be out when the light is best for taking photos, but it's also one of the best times of day for seeing the animals.

• Day 5 : Masai Mara National Reserve

  After breakfast, depart Nakuru and drive across the Rift Valley to the spectacular Maasai Mara National Reserve.
  You're in for a really special safari experience on your visit to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This is one of the best places in Kenya to look for big cats. You may
  see so many elephant, giraffe, Thomson's gazelle, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and hippo that you stop noticing them after a while! And these are just the start: watch for the reserve's population of black rhino, which are present in the Mara Triangle although they can be pretty hard to spot. Beautiful savannah grasslands, acacia trees, distant escarpments and more than 500 possible bird species are other highlights you can look forward to.

• Day 6 : Masai Mara National Reserve

  Enjoy a full day of game drives in the Maasai Mara, exploring its rolling grasslands and winding rivers teeming with wildlife. Morning drives offer beautiful golden light and high activity, while afternoons are perfect for spotting predators resting in the shade.
  Early Morning Game Drive, Masai Mara National Reserve
  Put on some warm clothes and enjoy an early morning game drive. This is the perfect time to experience the wildlife and the landscapes they inhabit. The light is soft and warm – perfect for photography – and most animals are out and about, and active. If you’re not an early riser, you’ll definitely want to make an exception here.

• Day 7 : The last day with us

  After an early breakfast, You’ll journey back to Nairobi, arriving in the early afternoon. Upon arrival, you’ll be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel or at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight marking the end of a remarkable 7-day Northern Kenya Explorer Safari filled with diverse landscapes, unique wildlife, and unforgettable memories.
