The 3 Days Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Safari takes you to this remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Site known as Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The Park is located in South Western part of Uganda in Kanungu district. It covers an area of about 331 sq.kms. The Park has almost half of the Word’s population of Mountain Gorillas with a population of about 459 individual mountain gorillas, 21 habituated Gorilla families in the different sectors of the park like Nkuringo, Buhoma, Rushaga and Ruhija which gives a great opportunity for Gorilla Trekking g and Gorilla Habituation. The park is also a home to 120 mammal species such as Chimpanzees, Civets, Elephants, Giant Forest hogs, Golden cats, Colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, stripped jackals among others. The park also harbors 348 bird species such as Rwenzori nightjar, black billed turaco, black bee eater, montane oriole, handsome francoline etc. You will also visit the Batwa people who lived in the rainforests and learn more about their ways of living.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 Pick Up From Entebbe International Airport Or Your Hotel - Transfer To Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Day 1 of the 3 Days Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Safari will start with a pick-up from Entebbe International Airport or your Hotel by our driver guide from African Sacred Ibis Adventures who will brief you about your exciting 3 Days Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Safari then embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The drive will take you southwest Uganda across the Equator then to Mbarara for Lunch. You will continue with the drive to the rainforest. Upon arrival in the park, you will check in the lodge and relax as you prepare for the Gorilla Trekking experience the next day. Dinner and Overnight Stay.

Day 2 Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park - Gorilla Trekking – Batwa Cultural Encounter

Day 2 of the Safari will start with a mouthwatering breakfast at your lodge, then you will prepare yourself in appropriate clothing and get ready for Gorilla Trekking. You will be transferred to the Parks center for briefing about the DO’s and DON’T’S by a ranger guide, you will enter the forest in search for the Mountain Gorillas. Gorilla Trekking takes about 1 – 5 hours depending on their location however, you can encounter other animals, bird species, butterfly species and also different plant species in the forest. Once you locate a Gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting experience to be long savored. You will learn about their behavior, how they feed, communicate etc. After this experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation. Later in the Afternoon, you will visit the Batwa pygmies who were the original inhabitants of the Bwindi impenetrable forest before they were relocated outside the park to pave way for Mountain Gorilla. You will participate in the traditional dance, learn about their ways of living, how they used to hunt small animals for food, their gathering skills, demonstrate how they make fire etc. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 Transfer Back To Entebbe International Airport Or Your Hotel Via The Equator

You will have a relaxed breakfast on your last day of the 3 Days Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Safari then you will embark on your return journey to Entebbe Airport or your Hotel. Expect en route stopovers in Mbarara town for lunch and the Uganda Equator line mark in Kayabwe for some memorable photos and water experiences. Company Terms And Conditions

a) The client making such inquiries, seeking such advice, requesting such quotations or estimates and who signifies his acceptance of a booking does so on behalf of himself and persons under his authority. Which means that all are bound by the booking conditions as if they had individually made the application themselves and is deemed to have read, understand and accepted the booking conditions of African Sacred Ibis Adventure Tours & Travel. All bookings are made with African Sacred Ibis Adventures Tours & Travel (hereinafter referred to as “the Company “). And no person has any authority on its behalf to vary any of the terms and conditions which are applicable.
b) The client has noted that The Company’ conditions include a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the LAND arrangements cost. Plus the full amount including taxes for the air travel portion (if relevant), plus full payment for any gorilla permits and chimpanzee permits – for each person if required when booking. This booking fee is accepted as part of the inclusive cost of the safari (except permits and air). Once a booking has been confirmed (upon the Agent’s request) these terms will apply to the Client.
c) The full amount due by the Client to the Company, our terms & conditions shall be payable not less than four weeks prior to the date of arrival into Uganda. Bookings made within four weeks of the safari start date must be paid in full immediately. If the full amount is not paid in due time Africa Sacred Ibis Adventures Tours & Travel deserves the right to treat the booking as cancelled.
d) If a booking is cancelled, then, our terms & conditions over and above such cancellation fees as any airline may charge and for which the client will be liable, the following will apply. The Company shall retain the full deposit but any amount paid in excess thereof will be reimbursed to the client. (Except gorilla permits, chimp permits, and any airfare that may be deemed non-refundable). Less than 42 days before arrival, The Company shall retain the full deposit and a cancellation fee will be payable equal to 40% of the land arrangements. Plus up to the full amount of gorilla permits, chimp permits, and any airfare that may be deemed non-refundable.
e) The Company will under no circumstances be liable for any claim whatsoever, unless such claim is due to the negligence of The Company and such claim is lodged in writing with The Company within 30 (thirty) days after the end of the tour.
f) Any payments due by the Client will incur interest from the due date at a rate 2% (two percent) above the prime rate charged by The Company’s bank.
g) Ugandan law and the jurisdiction of Ugandan courts will govern the relationship between the Client and African Sacred Ibis Adventures Tours & Travel.
h) The Client will be liable for all legal fees on an attorney and own Client scale in the event that The Company has to engage a lawyer to enforce any of its rights or otherwise.
