Day wise Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Manali

Arrive by bus to Manali, check into a hotel and stay the night. Spend the evening relaxing and acclimatizing in Manali.
Day 2

Manali - Jagatsukh - Khanol

We take jeeps from Manali to Jagatsukh in the morning. We start our trek from the town of Jagatsukh which was once the capital of the Kullu Valley. We will have a look at the Sandya Devi Temple before we start the days trek. Our trek will be a short 5 km, gradual ascent past some villages to Khanol (2280m), a small clearing where we will camp for the night.

Day 3

Khanol - Chikha

Today we trek through an initial stretch of about 4 km that is steep and takes us through forests and then on to a long & wide alpine plateau with beautiful wild flowers to reach Chikha (3350 m). Chikha provides the best rocks for climbing in the area. We camp at Chikha for the night.

Day 4

Chikha - Serai

The route from Chikha to Serai is very scenic, we start the trek through some pastures used for cattle grazing and we will see some beautiful waterfalls. After about 4 km the valley turns right and brings a series of hanging glaciers at the base of the Deo Tibba Peak into our view. We camp here for the night.

Day 5

Serai - Deo Tibba Base - Serai

Today we trek to the base of the Deo Tibba Peak and return to Serai, the journey will be 15 km round trip. On the way we shall see some of the most spectacular views of the peak itself as well as the Kullu Valley as the vantage point is above the tree line. We shall also stop at the Chandra Tal Lake which is a small glacial lake with a wildly wide variety of wildflowers that any nature lover would appreciate to no bounds. We make the return journey to Serai where we shall stay the night.

Day 6

Serai - Jagatsukh

We follow the same route that we took to come up, but as we are going downhill most of the way we can cover the distance and go straight to Jagatsukh. From here we shall take jeeps back to Manali to stay the night.

Day 7

Departure

Alas, the journey on the road less travelled is complete and its time to depart. Departure after breakfast.
