In the afternoon, attend a traditional cultural show, where you’ll experience Sri Lankan music, drumming, and Kandyan dance—complete with fire-walking and vibrant costumes. Continue your exploration with a visit to a Gem Museum and Gem Shop, where you’ll learn about Sri Lanka’s rich gem-mining heritage and have the chance to purchase certified precious stones such as sapphires, moonstones, and topaz. Wrap up with a Kandy city tour, covering highlights such as the scenic Kandy Lake, local markets, colonial-era buildings, and the bustling streets that capture the charm of this hill country capital.
Depart from the historic city of Kandy, heading toward the scenic hill country of Nuwara Eliya. En-route, make a stop at the stunning Ramboda Waterfalls, a multi-tiered cascade nestled in the lush hills. Continue to a renowned Tea Factory, where you’ll witness Sri Lanka’s world-famous tea production process and enjoy a fresh cup amid the plantations. Arrive in Nuwara Eliya, often called "Little England" for its colonial charm and cool climate. Explore the legendary Sitha Amman Temple, a sacred site linked to the Indian epic Ramayana, believed to be where Sita was held captive by Ravana. Nearby, visit the mystical Ashok Vatika, a beautifully forested area associated with the same tale. The surroundings are serene and steeped in mythology, perfect for history and culture enthusiasts. Arrive in Bentota, known for its golden beaches and calm lagoons.
After Breakfast enjoy Start your day in the beautiful coastal town of Bentota, known for its palm-fringed beaches and relaxed atmosphere. Begin with a visit to a Turtle Hatchery, where you can learn about the conservation of endangered sea turtles. Watch baby turtles being cared for and, if you're lucky, witness a release into the ocean.Next, set out on a serene boat ride along the Madu River, a complex network of lagoons and mangroves. Glide past small islands, observe aquatic birds and monitor lizards, and even stop at a fish spa or a cinnamon island, depending on the route.
In the afternoon, get your adrenaline pumping with a variety of water sports in Bentota.
After breakfast in Bentota, travel north to Colombo, Sri Lanka’s bustling commercial capital. Upon arrival, begin a city tour that blends culture, religion, architecture, and shopping. Explore the vibrant streets of Pettah Bazaar, one of the oldest and busiest market areas in Colombo, where you’ll find everything from textiles and electronics to spices and souvenirs—perfect for picking up unique local items. Visit a Hindu temple rich in colorful South Indian architecture, followed by a peaceful stop at a prominent Buddhist temple, reflecting the country's religious diversity and heritage. Continue to the impressive Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), a landmark of modern Sri Lankan architecture gifted by China in the 1970s. It's surrounded by gardens and statues and offers insight into the nation's post-independence history.
After breakfast check out and proceed to the Colombo Airport to catch your flight back home accompanied with all the happy memories of the tropical isle; Sri Lanka once known as TAPROBANE.
