Mt.Kailash Kora actually is a pilgrim circumambulation. Many pilgrims of all religions come to worship the mountain and to walk around it. Right now it becomes a very popular trekking route for tourists. More and more people come here to do the Kailash Kora. The kora is 53km long, starting at the town of Darchen just south of the mountain, going up the western valley, then crossing a high pass to the north of the mountain, and walking down the valley to the east of the mountain all the way back to Darchen. Our Mt.Kailash Kora still involves the holy Lake Manasarovar. The Kailash kora can be done from May to middle October.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Getting Into Lhasa

  Transfer from Gonggar airport or Railway Station of Lhasa to your hotel, have a good rest in the afternoon to acclimatize. Overnight at Lhasa.
• Day 2 : Lhasa Escorted Tour-1

  Sightseeing in Lhasa, visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Market. Overnight at Lhasa.
• Day 3 : Lhasa Escorted Tour-2

  Sightseeing in Lhasa, visit Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. Overnight at Lhasa
• Day 4 : Dive to Gyantse Via Yamdrok Lake, Karoala Glercier, and Though Farmer’s Cultivated Fields

  Driving to Gyangtse via Yamdrok Lake, visit the famous Gyantse Kumpum (300km, 7 hours). Overnight at Gyantse
• Day 5 : After Morning Visit to Pelchor Tsode Monastery and in Which the Kumbu Pagoda, Take Pictures of Zong

  Visiting Tashilhunpo Monastery, and Sakya Monastery. Driving to Shigatse to visit Tashilunpo Monastery, afternoon drive to Sakya, visit Sakya Monastery (240kms, 5 hours).Overnight at Lhatse
• Day 6 : After Breakfast and the Visit to Tashilumpu Monastery, Drive to Saga County. Views On the Way

  Driving from Lhatse to Saga (300kms, 9 hours, 4450m high). Overnight at Saga ( Guest House, dorm bed)
• Day 7 : Continue Drive Forward to Mt. Kailash, Stay Overnight At Payang Country.

  Driving from Saga to Paryang through the windswept territory passing many villages and camps of Yak herders with the distance view of snow capped mountains(250km, 7-8 hours, 4600m high). Overnight at Paryang ( Guest House, drom bed)
• Day 8 : Instead of Visiting Mt. Kailash We Would like You to Visit Lake Manasarowa Where You Can See the Rem

  Driving from Paryang to Lake Manasarovar through open territory with a view of distant mountains, Yak herders camp, if you are lucky enough you might come across a herd of Kang Wild Ass (294km, 8 hours, 4558m high), you will have the first sight of Holy Kailash and Manasarovara. Overnight at the village Hore or Chiu Monastery ( Guest house, dorm bed)
• Day 9 : Forwarding to Kailash Following the Lake Bank

  Resting and sightseeing at Lake Manasarivar. Overnight at the village Hore or Chiu Monastery ( Guest house, dorm bed)
• Day 10 : After 2 Hours’ Drive We Get to the Starting Point of Beginning Mt. Kailash Kora. Do Some Preparati

  Driving from Lake Manasarovar to Darchen (60km, 2 hours, 4560m high), prepare for trekking. Overnight at Kailash Hotel.
• Day 11 : First Day Kailash Kora

  Trekking from Darchen to Dira-puk Monastery, 20km, takes about 5 - 6 hours. The first day parikarama is a gradual walk with multitudes of other local pilgrims chanting and praying. The trail leads to few ups and downs till we reach our camp at Dirapuk (4,750m). Camping on the nice grassy meadows with a view of Kailash, north west face at Dirapuk for overnight halt.
• Day 12 : Second Day Kailash Kora

  Trekking from Dira-puk Monastery to Zutul-puk Monastery by crossing Drolma-la Pass, 15km, takes about 6 - 7 hours;
  Today our parikarama leads to much higher side of the holy path just beneath the Mount Kailash. The walk will bring us to one of the highest point at Drolma La, 5,200m. before descending to the gradual field towards Zuthulphuk for the overnight camp. Zuthulphuk has a small monastery
• Day 13 : Third Day Kailash Kora, and Finish the Kora Trekking Activity

  Trek back to Darchen,14km, 4- 5 hours;
  The winding gradual tracks finally ends our holy pilgrimage 5 hours, Overnight at Darchen
• Day 14 : From Today and Since On, We Drive Back to Lhasa the Holy City

  Driving from Darchen to Zhongba country (4550m, 420km, 9 hours). overnight at Zhongba county ( Gusethouse, dorm bed).
• Day 15 : On the Way Back to Lhasa, the Second Day

  Driving from Zhongba county to Shegar (470km, 9 hours). Overnight at Everest Hotel in Shegar.
• Day 16 : Drive from Shegar to Mt. Everest Base Camp and Back to Shigatse City.

  We choose a different way back to Lhasa, that is we will visit Mt. Everest Base Camp on the way back. Just like you to enjoy another highlight in Tibet. The tour to Everest will be 9 hours including driving time. overnight at Shigatse city 3 star hotel
• Day 17 : Drive Back to Shigatse in Early Morning

  Driving from Shigatse to Lhasa for 280km. Upon arrival in Lhasa, you can have a complete rest. Or you can take a train from Shigatse to Lhasa too if you like. Overnight at Lhasa
• Day 18 : Leaving Lhasa

  ransfer from your hotel to Gonggar airport or Railway Station of Lhasa in the morning, trip ends.
