Trek Around Namtso Lake Tour

Our guide will meet you at the airport or the railway station, then he or she will drive you to your hotel.

In the morning, you are going to visit Potala Palace, the winter palace of Panchen Lama. After that, you will visit Jokhang Temple and stroll in the Barkhor Street.

Today, you will visit Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. Stay overnight in Lhasa.

Our guide will drive you from Lhasa to Tsedang, you will visit Yumbu Lakang Palace, Trandruk Monastery and Samye Temple.

On the way from Tsedang to Shigatse, you will via Kambala pass, which is 4,794 meters high and you can have a glimpse of Yamdrok Lake. It is known as one of the three holiest lakes in Tibet. After that, you will be driven to Chushul and on the Friendship highway to Shigatse, where you can visit Tashilumpo Monastery. Stay overnight in Shigatse.

In the morning, you will leave for Namtso by tour bus, you can enjoy the stunning view of Bali Valley and visit Droja Monastery, which is the biggest monastery around Namtso Lake. Finally, camp in the wild and stay overnight there.

Start to trek around Namtso Lake and this trek will be done within three days. On the way, you can visit the caves of Buguzari, where many animals, plants and special letter-shaped patterns can be seen. Then camp there.

There are lots of figures of Buddha in caves of Kado Nanka Island, which is really a holy land. Besides, Kado Monastery was in this island before, however, because of Cultural Revolution, the monastery was heavily damaged only left some traces. What’s more, the island is the opposite side of Mt. Tanggula, you can see several splendid grand stone (Gate of Tanggula) and many mongolian gazelles. Then, camping in the wild.

Three-day’s trek will be done today. Since you will be exhausted through the several days’ trek, you can enjoy bath at Jiachangcuiguo Yumen, which means the place to bath, it is one of the four famous Yumens of Namtso Lake. It is said that people who bath here can get rid of evils and have good luck. Finally, camp nearby.

You have finished Namtso Lake trekking, today our guide will take you to Zhaxi Peninsula, which is the largest peninsula around the lake. A large number of Tibetan people from different pastoral areas come here for meeting and pilgrimaging.

Our guide will show you around the Zhai Peninsula, and then drive you back to Lhasa.
