In this travel plan you will be explore Gangtok is a popular place with tourists heading on treks, though the facilities do not reflect the number of international visitors. Gangtok could easily be one of the cleanest cities you've ever come across. Highly organised and beautifully maintained, it used to be the Switzerland of the east, There are quite a few places for vegetarians to eat, since it is mostly dominated by Buddhist culture. The city resembles the Bhutanese capital, Thimphu. Devoid of large stores and book shops, this place is a nice break from typical city lives. The city is a fascinating place to spend a few nights, the winding side alleys hide some unexpected gems, and the main street (MG Marg) is pedestrianized and a pleasant place to take a stroll. The city sleeps by 9pm mostly, except for a few pubs which are open till 11pm.
Beware that Sikkim has banned all forms of tobacco. It is illegal to smoke anywhere in Sikkim or buy/sell cigarets. Gangtok also has strictly enforced traffic and littering laws among others.
The nearest airport is Bagdogra, near Siliguri, 96 km from Darjeeling. Bagdogra Airport is 2.5 hours by road from Darjeeling and 2 hours by air from Delhi, and 50 minutes by air from Kolkata.
There are a number of trains from cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Guwahati, Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar and Kochi. SUNBIRD team will provide you all the services with hassle free process.

Day 1

Arrival and Transfer to Gangtok

Guest will be received by our official at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) - He will assist guest for the forwarding journey to Gangtok (120 Kilometers, 4 hours) - This is an exclusive tour i.e. non sharing basis - A perfect destination for tourist in search of enchantment, tranquility, trekking or any other adventure. Land of monastery, mystic rituals / festivals at an elevation of 1,437 meters / 4,715 feet is the most often visited spot of India for its rare Orchids and Butterflies - In the evening one is free to stroll around M.G.Marg or the local Market - Overnight stay at Gangtok

Nathula Pass

Early morning breakfast - Permits are made one day prior to visit - This is nearly 48 kilometers drive and takes nearly 2 hours - Visit to Tsomgo / Changu Lake, cool, serene water and the picturesque beauty - Tsomgo lake is one of the holy lake of the region - A temple of Lord Shiva is built on the lakeside - Primula flowers and other alpine plantation provide an immaculate beauty to this place. From here you can visit Nathula pass (optional cost-depends on permit). Back to hotel. Evening free to stroll around M G Road or the Local Market - Overnight stay at Gangtok

Day 3

Gangtok

Ganesh Tok Enchey Monastery

Morning breakfast - After breakfast drive for the city tour of Gangtok - Sightseeing will be for full day hence the drive will be bit fast from each point - It is not possible to visit all the places, Guests are require to maintain the time with the driver - Visit to Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Research Institute of Tibetology, Do DrulChorten (Stupa), Enchey Monastery, Lahsha Falls, Bakthang water falls, Flower Show, Ganesh Tok, Tashi View point are some more places of tourist interest - Back to hotel - Evening free to roam around M G Road (Mall) or local Shopping center or visit any of the discotheque in central Gangtok - Over Night stay at Gangtok.

All Hotels was excellent. Agency coordination was also good. My complaint on the driver only, name Rajesh Sikhawat was not good person, his talking way was not well always doing unnecessary arguments. Mr Santanu from SUNBIRD always trying to control his way but he didn't listen to anyone. Otherwise SUNBIRD services was good.
