Hon Rom Beach is one of the most picturesque and tranquil beaches located in the Mui Ne area of Phan Thiet, Binh Thuan Province, Vietnam. With golden sands, gentle waves, and a backdrop of rolling hills covered in wild grass, Hon Rom offers a serene escape from the bustling cities. Its name “Hon Rom” comes from a hill near the beach that turns a golden, straw-like color during the dry season, resembling a bundle of dried rice (called "rom" in Vietnamese).
This destination is ideal for couples, families, and solo travelers looking for relaxation, water activities, and stunning sunrise views. It’s less commercialized than some other beaches in Vietnam, giving it a more natural and peaceful atmosphere.
Hon Rom Beach is located about 28 kilometers northeast of Phan Thiet city and 4–5 kilometers from the main tourist strip of Mui Ne.
- From Phan Thiet: You can take a taxi or rent a motorbike. The ride takes about 40–45 minutes via Nguyen Dinh Chieu or Huynh Thuc Khang Street.
- From Mui Ne: It’s just a 10 to 15-minute ride. Motorbike rental is the most popular way to reach Hon Rom for flexibility.
- Public Transport: Local buses may run along the route, but options are limited and infrequent. Tours are also available through local agents.
The beach enjoys a tropical savanna climate, with two distinct seasons.
- Dry Season (Nov to Apr): Ideal for visiting. Expect clear skies, sunny weather, and temperatures between 25°C and 32°C.
- Rainy Season (May to Oct): Rain typically comes in short bursts, often in the late afternoon. Mornings remain sunny and enjoyable.
The beach is open 24 hours a day and is free to access, though some resorts or areas may charge a small fee for parking or using facilities.
