Karwar is a city that lies in the Indian state of Karnataka. Before India was a free country, Karwar was spelled as Carwar as it was anglicized by the British. The name of this city translates into the 'last stop' in Kannada language. This has emanated as a popular tourist site due to its tantalizing geographical location and picturesque surroundings.


This holiday destination is located close to the shoreline of the Arabian Sea. Karwar is elevated 20 feet above the sea level and spread across an area of 27 sq. km. Due to the closer proximity to the Arabian Sea, Karwar has a tropical warm climate. Amid the year, this city encounters warm temperatures as the median mercury level scales between 27°C-35°C. During the monsoon, the temperatures fall down by few degrees.
