Depart Nairobi very early and travel north via Thika Road with an equator stop at Nanyuki and a shopping stop at Cedar Mall. The group pauses in Samburu for a Hapa Ni Wapi Campaign launch and photography, then proceeds through Laisamis into Marsabit National Park via Ajmarko Gate to explore crater lakes before entering Marsabit town via Ahmed Gate. Key timings include a strict 3:30 AM departure from Nairobi, an equator stop around 5:30 AM, and a Cedar Mall stop between 8:15 and 9:15 AM. The day ends with dinner in Marsabit and overnight at two hotels.

An early start from Marsabit leads into a long dusty day north through Maikona towards the Chalbi Desert and onward to North Horr. The day includes exploration and photography on the white desert flats of the Chalbi, midday arrival and lunch at the North Horr homestays, and an evening visit to the North Horr sand dunes to watch the sunset followed by dinner and a bonfire. Terrain is dusty and travel through Maikona may take approximately five to six hours; sunglasses and a shuka are recommended.

A morning with an optional sunrise return to the dunes is available before departing North Horr for Loiyangalani via Gas. The route brings Lake Turkana into view and includes a boat ride on Lake Turkana to learn about the El Molo community and their shrine. The group checks in at Palm Shade Hotel for lunch and splits between two hotels for the night while sharing meals together. The afternoon includes time back at the lakeside for swimming, photography and sunset watching. Key timings include a strict 6:00 AM optional dune departure and departure from North Horr around 8:30 AM.

This is the longest and most time sensitive day, departing early from Loiyangalani toward Ngurunit and passing the Lake Turkana Wind Power project and its turbines. The day may include a visit to Ngurunit natural sliding rocks with a quick lunch (subject to water levels), then reconnection with tarmac at Laisamis and travel through Archers Post to Isiolo. The evening is spent together at Sala Hotel in Isiolo where the whole group shares one roof for dinner and rest.

After breakfast and check out in Isiolo the group departs for Nairobi at 9:30 AM. The drive back concludes the recce with expected arrival in Nairobi between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM depending on traffic and road conditions. On arrival the trip formally ends with an opportunity for tour operators and the team to share feedback, discuss improvements, assess market readiness and begin marketing the route.
