The Langtang Valley Trek is one of the most accessible Himalayan journeys from Kathmandu. The route follows the Langtang Khola through forests and traditional villages to Langtang Village and Kyanjin Gompa. Trekkers experience Tamang, Sherpa and Tibetan influenced culture, mountain monasteries, yak pastures and quieter trails, with an optional high hike to Tserko Ri at 4,984 meters for panoramic Himalayan views.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival In Kathmandu

Arrival in Kathmandu with airport welcome, transfer to the hotel and a trek briefing with final preparations. This day is used for arrival formalities, settling into your tourist standard hotel and attending a detailed briefing about the Langtang Valley trek.

Day 2 Kathmandu To Syabrubesi

Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, a road journey of about 122 km following the Trishuli River. The drive passes terraced countryside and mountain roads arriving at Syabrubesi, the gateway to the Langtang Valley.

Day 3 Syabrubesi To Lama Hotel

Langtang National Park

Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel at 2,515 m. The trail follows the Langtang Khola through forest, small settlements and suspension bridges as you enter Langtang National Park.

Day 4 Lama Hotel To Langtang Village

Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village at 3,430 m. The route climbs through rhododendron and pine forest toward Ghodatabela, then continues into the broad upper valley reaching Langtang Village.

Day 5 Langtang Village To Kyanjin Gompa

A shorter trekking day from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa at about 3,890 m into the upper valley. The day offers time for acclimatization and, depending on timing and fitness, an optional acclimatization hike toward Kyanjin Ri.

Day 6 Kyanjin Gompa To Tserko Ri And Return To Kyanjin Gompa

A demanding side hike to the Tserko Ri viewpoint at 4,984 m for broad Himalayan views. Trekkers return to Kyanjin Gompa after the hike and spend a second night in Kyanjin Gompa. This is an optional high day offering panoramic mountain vistas.

Day 7 Kyanjin Gompa To Lama Hotel

Trek from Kyanjin Gompa back down the valley to Lama Hotel. The return route retraces the valley through yak pastures, villages and forest descending toward Lama Hotel.

Day 8 Lama Hotel To Syabrubesi

Continue the downhill return from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi through the greener lower valley. This day is generally easier with descending trails and an overnight stay in Syabrubesi.

Day 9 Syabrubesi To Kathmandu

Return by road from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu. The overland journey brings you back to the capital where you can enjoy a farewell dinner in the evening.

Day 10 Departure From Kathmandu

Departure day with private airport transfer arranged according to your flight schedule. Final departure formalities and transfer to the airport.
