  The Masai Mara was a highlight every game drive brought new excitement, from spotting lions and elephants to marveling at the vast, rolling savannahs and community in the village.   I've been on safari many times, but this experience in Hell's Gate National Park was completely different. Where we usually see animals in a jeep, we cycled through chameleon-colored mountains, gurgling gorges, and open nature trails. Zebras and impalas walked side by side - as if they were walking with us! During the boat ride on Lake Naivasha, we saw hippos from close quarters, and the chorus of white herons and mallards seemed to create a strange calm. Lake Nakuru was the final destination of the trip - there were rows of giant flamingos, and we were lucky enough to see two white rhinos.
