Maasai Mara in the Great Rift Valley
Leave Nairobi at 6.30am for approximately 270kms to Masai Mara National Reserve with a panoramic view of the Great Rift Valley enroute, arriving to the hotel in the Maasai Mara for lunch. Afternoon game drive from 4.00pm to 6.30pm then return to hotel for dinner.
Experience the great migration and iconic savanna landscapes with full-day game drives.
Leave the hotel after breakfast at 7.30am for a FULL-DAY game drive within the expansive Masai Mara reserve. You will have picnic lunch in the savanna and arrive back to the hotel in the evening for dinner. You can also organize with your guide if you would like to visit the Masai village on that day.
Leave Masai Mara National Reserve at 7.30am for approximately 172kms to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving for lunch. Lake Nakuru is famously known to be te rhino sanctuary (where both the endangered white and black rhinos inhabit), it also hosts the endangered Rothschild's giraffes and thousands of bird species including flamingoes amongst others.
Afternoon game drive in the Lake Nakuru National Park from 4.00pm to 6.30pm then return to hotel for dinner.
Lake Naivasha being one of the main seven lakes within the Rift Valley, is a freshwater lake located outside the town of Naivasha in Nakuru County. It lies approximately 77 kilometers northwest of Nairobi. The name derives from the local Maasai name ɛnaɨpɔ́sha, meaning very large bodies of water. The name was therefore coined by the British in their attempt to pronounce “Enaipasha”. The depth of the lake varies from 2 to 8 meters, and the surface is approximately 150 square kilometers, though the size varies according to the rainfall. The lake is fed by direct rainfall and three rivers: The Gilgil and Malewa are perennial rivers, and Karati is a seasonal river. There is no visible outlet, but since the lake water is relatively fresh it is assumed to have an underground outflow. Njorowa Gorge once formed the lake's outlet, but it is now high above the lake and forms the entrance to Hell's Gate National Park.
Leave Lake Nakuru at 6.30am for Amboseli National Park with a stopover for lunch at Emali. Game drive en-route and arrive to the hotel in the evening for check-in and dinner.
Enjoy a long drive with a picturesque view of Kenya's unique features like the Rift Valley viewpoint and the mountainous Central region vegetations before arriving to Nairobi and eventually beginning a descent towards the Eastern regions of Kenya and culminating in the bed of the Rift Valley at the Amboseli National Park.
Amboseli National Park. Being one of the oldest national parks in Africa, it covers an area of approximately 392 square kilometers and is elevated at 1,300 meters. It is about 210 kilometers from the capital city. From the spacious beauty that gives a clear visibility, one can admire Mt. Kilimanjaro from its northern side, the tallest mountain in Africa with approximately 5,850 meters of altitude and sits at the border with Kenya though the mountain is entirely in Tanzania.
Leave the hotel at 7.00am after breakfast to enjoy the huge herds of elephants in their family groupings leaving their bedroom in the mountainous areas heading towards the swampy most vegetated area adjacent to Lake Amboseli where they spend the entire day feeding, drinking and splashing water on their bodies in order to cool themselves from the heat of about 30 degrees centigrade. Picnic lunch in the park and return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
Leave Amboseli in the morning after breakfast for Nairobi to be dropped off at the point of preference whether hotel or at the airport.
