Sandakphu Tea House Trek

Upon our arrival at the nearest airports Bagdogra where our assistant will meet you with transport to Darjeeling - about 3 hours. On arrival, check in to hotel. Overnight at Hotel, Darjeeling. Meal: Dinner.

Early morning (@04:00AM), drive to the Tiger hill. Situated at an altitude of 8442 ft. Tiger hill has earned international fame for the magnificent view of the sunrise. The majestic peak Kanchenjunga (8596 mtrs) rears up flanked by Mt.Kabru and Mt Pandim to the far left are Everest, Makalu and Lhotse. Other peaks visible from here are Mt. Jano, Mt. Nar sing, Mt. Frey peak, Mt. Sinolchu etc. After Tiger Hill, visit Yiga Choling Monastery of Ghoom. After breakfast, visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, a high altitude wildlife Zoo with the most successful captive breeding center for Snow leopard and Red Panda. After this visit, you may proceed to Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center and then Tea Garden. Evening free for market. You may take a joy ride in the famous Darjeeling "Toy Train", titled World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Overnight at Hotel, Darjeeling. Meal: Dinner.

Sandakphu Trek begins. Drive to Dhotrey, the starting point of the trek. The days walk, about 06 hrs, is uphill towards Tumling/Tonglu. Overnight at Lodge, Tonglu/Tumling. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

On second day of Sandakphu Trek, we undertake a pleasant walk through the forest which is home to the rare Red Panda and the Tragopan. After about 04 hrs, Kalipokhri (2970m) is reached, where we spend the night. Overnight at Lodge, Kalipokhari. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

After breakfast, start the trek to Sandakphu (3636m) which takes about 06 hrs. Sandakphu is the place to view the mountains. On a clear day one can see the peaks of Lhotse (8501m), Everest (8848m) and Makalu (8475m) of the Nepal Himalayas and the huge Kanchenjanga massif (8586m) along with other peaks of the Sikkim Himalayas. Overnight at Lodge, Sandakphu. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

After breakfast, the day of walking for a little while the trekker will be followed by the Everest group on the left and Kanchenjunga range right ahead. A walk of about 4.5 hrs. From Sandakphu the trekker will come across a stone house with blown of roof on the top of a small ridge. The place is known as Sabarkum and is 14 km from Sandakphu. From Sabarku/Molley’s to Phalut Top 8 Km Keeping the ridge on the left follow the trail north ward. After about an hour the trail begins to climb through a series of zigzag till one reaches Trekkers’ Hut. From here Phalut summit is about 20 minutes walk.A magnificient view of snowy range is obtained from the summit which is also trijunction of Sikkim, West Bengal and Nepal. Overnight at Lodge, Sandakphu. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

After breakfast, From Phalut walk downhill via Gorkhey. The distance is about 20 km and should take you around 5-6 hours to reach Srikhola. Halt for the day. Overnight at Lodge, Srikhola/Rammam. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

After breakfast, From Gorkhey the road descends to Sirikhola/Rimbick. Trek concludes. On arrival at Sirikhola /Rimbick, board the awaiting vehicle and get driven to Darjeeling. Check in to hotel. Rest for the day. Overnight at Hotel, Darjeeling. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
