This park was established in 1936 as India’s first national park by the legendary British Tiger - Hunter, Jim Corbett and was the starting point for the India - wide project tiger program in 1973, inspiring the creation of 22 other reserves. Your best chance to see a tiger is to come late in the season (april to mid - June). The wild life reserve includes wild elephants, langur monkeys, rhesus macaques, peacocks, leopards, mugger crocodiles and several types of deer.
