Photographic Safari is designed for passionate photographers and follows Tanzania’s iconic Northern circuit. This African photo safari offers excellent chances for wildlife photographers to live in the heart of Serengeti, Tarangire and Ngorongoro Crater. The safari is guided by a professional driver who knows the right time and best location to do the game drive, best photography spots, animal spots and light conditions. The focus is on quality over quantity with early morning starts, late returns, patient positioning and time for composition rather than rushing between sightings. Early morning and late evening photographic game drives are common to give unique pictures at sunrise and sunset and ample opportunity for wildlife photography. The 7 days sample program can be customized to suit budget and preferences.
Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport. After clearing customs and immigration you will be met by your Lion View Tours guide who will drive you to your accommodation in Arusha. The rest of the day is free to relax and absorb the African atmosphere. You will receive a safari briefing from your experienced guide who can also provide information about Tanzanian culture, national parks and sights. Prepare for the upcoming photographic safari. Dinner and overnight stay in Arusha. All meals are included.
After breakfast depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park for game drives. Tarangire stretches along the Tarangire River and features Acacia woodlands, massive baobab trees and extensive swamp areas that attract wildlife especially during the dry season. The park is known for some of Africa's largest herds of elephants and abundant birdlife. Expect excellent photographic opportunities including elephants at the river and iconic baobabs. Drive to your accommodation inside the park for optimal viewing. Dinner and overnight inside or near the park. All meals are included.

Full day in Tarangire National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. Explore different sections of the park including riverine areas for predators and woodlands for giraffes. Photographic opportunities include telephoto shots of lions on termite mounds and layered elephant family groups. Early mornings offer mist and soft light ideal for photography. Dinner and overnight at the same accommodation. All meals are included.

After breakfast at the lodge depart Karatu and drive to Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro forest, enjoying a viewpoint stop of Ngorongoro Crater en route. Enter Serengeti via Naabi Hill gate and enjoy your first afternoon game drive on the endless Serengeti plains. Serengeti offers extensive wildlife and photographic opportunities including lions, cheetahs and migration herds across vast plains and kopjes. Overnight in Serengeti. Meals included.

First of two dedicated full days in the heart of Serengeti exploring either central or southern regions depending on migration patterns. Days include morning and afternoon game drives with optional late afternoon extensions for sunset photography. Expect to observe big cat behavior such as lion hunting, cheetahs sprinting, and large ungulate herds including wildebeest and zebra against classic acacia-studded landscapes, kopjes and river systems. The diversity of habitats supports resident and migratory species, providing varied photographic opportunities. Overnight in Serengeti. Meals included.

Second dedicated full day in Serengeti continuing exploration of central or southern areas based on migration. Continue with morning and afternoon game drives and optional late afternoon extensions for sunset photography. Opportunities to capture predators, migration herds, and varied landscapes including kopjes, river systems and scattered woodlands. Overnight in Serengeti. Meals included.

After breakfast depart Serengeti for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, taking a packed lunch from the camp. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater where the entire day is devoted to game drives inside the crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's largest intact volcanic caldera with dense wildlife populations. Expect a wide range of habitats and excellent game viewing. Later drive back to Karatu for dinner and overnight. All meals are included.

After breakfast drive from Karatu to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home. Depending on your flight time you may have the option to relax at your lodge or explore the local town a little before transfer. The guided 8 day photography safari is flexible and customizable to your needs.

A booking is deemed confirmed once:
A 30% deposit of the total safari cost has been received and acknowledged by our bank, and
The remaining 70% balance is settled no later than four (4) weeks prior to departure.
Detailed payment instructions will be provided upon confirmation.
Should your plans change, we kindly request that all cancellations be submitted in writing. Cancellations become effective upon receipt by Lion View Tours.
The following cancellation charges apply:
More than 45 days prior to departure: 30% of total safari cost
45–30 days prior to departure: 50% of total safari cost
Less than 30 days prior to departure or no-show: 100% of total safari cost
