While the original was washed away in a 1969 flood, it was restored in 2005 using the original centuries-old iron links. About Tiger Nest On her back, he flew across the snow-capped peaks from Tibet to a terrifying 3,000-foot cliff in the Paro Valley. He chose a dark, narrow cave on the Cliffside to meditate and subdue the local demons that were obstructing the spread of Buddhism. He meditated there for three years, three months, three weeks, and three days. Today, that cave is the very heart of the monastery, and the energy of his meditation is said to still vibrate within the stone walls.
