Ladakh, one of the few strongholds of Tibetan Buddhist life, culture and religion, lies cradled in the heart of the Great North - Western Himalaya. Leh, the capital of Ladakh nestled in the Indus River valley, was once a trading town at the junction of the historic silk route from China and central Asia to the plains of India.
Based in the town of Leh (11,500 ft. / 3505 m), the journey includes & unveils many fascinating excursions to cliff side Gompas (monasteries) inhabited by peaceful Buddhist monks, pretty villages & surrounding countryside, high passes and dramatic mountain scenery.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival At leh

Leh Palace

Upon arrival at Leh Airport in Ladakh, a representative of Snow lion himalaya travel will greet and transfer you to the hotel/G. house. Have half day rest for acclimatization to the high altitude of Leh (11,500 ft / 3500 mtrs). Afternoon visit Leh palace,Tsemo gonpa and Shanti stupa.

Day 2

Explore Indus Valley (around 98 Kms)

Have a very hearty breakfast at the G. house Later embark on Ladakh tour to see some of the best monasteries of Ladakh including Hemis Monastery, Thiksey Gompa, Rancho school,(real name DRUK PADMA KARPO)Shey Palace and in the evening visit the leh market,

Day 3

Leh - Khardung La (18380fts) - Leh (58kms/3-4hrs)

In the morning drive for the Khardung - La Pass. This is the ultimate challenge of the trip. It is the highest motor able road in the world taking you to a dizzy 5,600m! The view from the top is spectacular, stretching from the Indus valley in the South over the endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range to the giants of the Sesser Massif in the North. You can feel proud of a true achievement as you finish the trip with your final satisfying descent. Later drive to Hall of fame , gurud dwara , magnetic hill and Sangam the confluence of Zanskar and Indus river . Overnight in Hotel./g.house

Drop To Airport
