Overview
Ladakh, one of the few strongholds of Tibetan Buddhist life, culture and religion, lies cradled in the heart of the Great North - Western Himalaya. Leh, the capital of Ladakh nestled in the Indus River valley, was once a trading town at the junction of the historic silk route from China and central Asia to the plains of India.

Based in the town of Leh (11,500 ft. / 3505 m), the journey includes & unveils many fascinating excursions to cliff side gompas (monasteries) inhabited by peaceful Buddhist monks, pretty villages & surrounding countryside, high passes and dramatic mountain scenery.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival in Leh

  Upon arrival at Leh Airport in Ladakh, a representative of Snow lion himalaya travel will greet and transfer you to the Hotel/G. house. Have full day rest for acclimatization to the high altitude of Leh (11,500 ft / 3500 mtrs). Evening enjoy a short walk to Leh market.
• Day 2 : Leh to Lamayuru then Alchi, Rezong, Nunnery, Basgo Monasteries

  After break fast drive to Lamayuru (127 kms)It was build in 11th century by Great translator Rinchen Zangpo. This Monastery is one of the biggest in Ladakh; This Monastery is Drigung-Kagyu-pa sect of Buddhism. After Lunch drive to visit the mesmerizing Moon landscape. Than  drive back to uley. Than Car will drive you between the gorge to Rezong Monastery and Nunnery Both are in same gorge, This Monastery is most unusual in ladakh. Between the hills stands in isolation. This is Gelug-pa sect of Buddhism. Than comes Alchi Monastery one of the biggest and oldest builds in 11th century. It is Kagyu-pa, Gelug-pa sect of Buddhism. This Monastery is not build on the mountain and hills like others. It is in between the village.
   
• Day 3 : Alchi/ to Leh

  After Btreak fastDrive back to Leh. Around 40 kms before leh is Basgo Monastery which is Kagyu-pa follower of Buddhism, once this place was Capital. On the way back You are going to see Magnificent Confluence of Two River Indus and Zanskar , After 7 kms Magnetic hill is on the which defies Gravity, Guru-dawara ,Hall of fame is just 6 km before leh . This is maintained by Army. It contains History, Culture, Flanna, Flora and many things inside. Over night in Leh Hotel/g.house
   
• Day 4 : Leh - Pangong, via Chang la (pass) (5320mts/5-6hrs)

  After breakfast, drive (154km/ 6 hrs) to the spectacular Changthang Valley, winding your way over the exhilarating Chang la (5320m.)- The second highest point of our journey.  The landscape on the way to Pangong is just spectacular. Over night in fixed camp or guesthouse.
   
• Day 5 : Pangong Explore and drive back to Leh

  The Lake is situated at 13,930 ft./ about 4300mts. above sea level and is 125 km long, but is only four km at its widest, and extends almost in a straight line, way to Tibet; in fact, only a quarter of the lake is in India. En route you will see some Himalayan marmots & migrated birds. Later retrace to Leh for overnight in a hotel.
   
• Day 6 : Leh to Nubra valley

  Today after breakfast drive about 04- 05 hrs [125 kms] to Nubra – known as valley of followers. After drive about 02 hrs we will reach – The world`s highest motor able road called Khardongla high about 18,380 feet’s above sea level. From the top we can see the most beautiful view of Indus valley & its snow covered peaks towering the sky and other side of the pass if weather remain clear we can see Karakorum mountain range and peaks too.  We descend down to beautiful valley & transfer to the Accommodation. have a rest till evening ,before sun set we will take you for a  short drive  to Hunder sand dunes to visit & ride double humped bacterium  camel, later back to accommodation  for overnight stay.  If time permits we will have a village walk to see local people & its culture.
   
• Day 7 :  Nubra to Leh

  Morning after breakfast we will visit the most picturesque Disket monastery on the hill top. Later continue drive to other side of Nubra valley – was the main part of silk route.    We will continue our drive back to Leh via Khardongla. Reach Leh & transfer to Hotel overnight stay.
   
• Day 8 :  leh to Tsomoriri Lake.  (240 kms/6-7 hours)

  After breakfast in the Hotel leave for beautiful Tsomoriri lake .which is around 240 kms from leh but you  today we are not going to cross any pass so the road is straight. And it will take about 6-7 hours.  On the one side of the lake is Korzok village .a Leisure walk along the side of the lake is recommended .As it give you internal peace if you go toward north –east direction for an hour or half you can see Nomad’s and can be interact with them.  Near Lake is home for summer migratory birds like Black neck crane over night in Korzok.

• Day 9 : Tsomoriri - Tsokar (14,900 ft.) - Taglangla (17,582 ft.) - Leh

  After breakfast retrace the route till Puga Sumdo and then follow the left side road through the Puga Valley with its sulphur springs, at the end of which the road ascends the Polokongka pass (4920 mtrs). After descending from the pass, we proceed to Tso-Kar, a small salt producing lake system located in the Rupshu region. After sightseeing and lunch at the lake side, take the Manali-Leh road to return to Leh via the Taglang-la pass, 2nd highest road motor able road in the world. Reach Leh by the late afternoon/ evening. Overnight at the hotel in LEH.
• Day 10 : Drop to Airport

  Leave Ladakh with sweet memories.
