Your journey begins with a flight from Delhi to Guwahati, India, where our Bhutanese team will warmly welcome you. From Guwahati, you will drive through scenic villages and sprawling tea plantations, navigating the vibrant traffic of bicycles, trucks, and buses, before arriving in Samdrup Jongkhar. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and take some time to explore the town while your guide completes the passport stamping formalities. Overnight at the hotel (Altitude: 350m | Drive: 3hrs | Distance: 150km).
Depart from Samdrup Jongkhar and journey towards Trashigang, the largest district in Eastern Bhutan. After crossing Narphungla Pass at 2,200 meters, stop at Narphung village, famed for its wild tea and local products. Travel through dense forests and picturesque villages before arriving at Womrong for lunch. Continue to the Khaling Weaving Center, witness local weaving traditions, and then proceed via Yangphula Pass and Kanglung University to Trashigang. Explore the 17th-century Trashigang Dzong and interact with the locals in the evening. Overnight at the hotel (Altitude: 1200m | Drive: 5hrs | Distance: 170km).
After breakfast, head to Sakten Village, a two-hour drive through winding roads, traditional villages, and breathtaking landscapes. Drive from Mongar to Bumthang, one of Bhutan’s most scenic routes. Pass dense forests, waterfalls, and remote villages, ascending Thrimshingla Pass at 3,700 meters. Stop at Ura Village to visit the local temple before continuing to Jakar Valley for an overnight stay (Altitude: 2500m | Drive: 5hrs | Distance: 170km).
Start the day with a visit to Mebar Tsho (Burning Lake), a sacred site steeped in legend and spiritual significance. Continue to Tang Rimochen Lhakhang, a temple believed to have been established in the 8th century, housing ancient relics and a statue of Guru Rinpoche.
Explore the Ogyen Choling Museum, a beautifully preserved mansion that offers insight into the lifestyle and heritage of Bhutanese aristocracy. Continue to Jambay Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan, followed by Kurjey Lhakhang, where Guru Rinpoche is said to have meditated, leaving his sacred body imprint.
