A direct and rewarding approach to Point Lenana (4,985m), the highest trekking summit on Mount Kenya, via the Naru Moru Route. The trail passes through montane forest, the distinctive Naru Moru vertical bog, open moorland, alpine terrain, and the cold desert zone. An acclimatization hike above Mackinder Camp on Day 2 helps the body adjust before the early-morning summit push on Day 3, timed to reach Point Lenana for sunrise. Arrival: Meet at Naru Moru town — there is no airport pickup included on this itinerary. Accommodation: Before or after the trek cannot be arranged by this operator. All mountain equipment, hiking gear, food, camping supplies, porters, cook, and guide services should be arranged and ready before entering the park.
Arrive in Naru Moru town by 11:00am to noon for a mountain equipment and gear check with the guide, followed by a vehicle transfer of approximately 17 km (about 30 minutes) to the park gate at 2,650 m. Meet the mountain team for a hot lunch, complete park registration and entry formalities, then trek approximately 10 km (3-4 hours) through mountain forest at a slow comfortable pace, gradually climbing toward the treeline. Arrive at Met Station Camp in time for 4:00pm tea, coffee and hot drinking chocolate with cookies and popcorn, relax and enjoy the sundowner before dinner and overnight in mountain camping tents.

Wake at approximately 06:00 with breakfast served at 07:00 and begin the day's hike at about 08:00. The route climbs from treeline into the moorland zone passing through the famous Naru Moru vertical bog and open moorland toward higher altitude terrain. There is a hot lunch break at Picnic Rocks before continuing upward. On arrival at Mackinder Camp expect a short rest followed by an acclimatization hike to around 4,400 m before descending back to Mackinder Camp. Tea and hot drinks are served at 4:00pm. Early dinner is provided in preparation for the early-morning summit attempt, then overnight in mountain camping tents.

Wake at approximately 01:00 for a light breakfast of tea hot drinks and cookies and begin the summit trek at about 02:00. Ascend through alpine and cold desert terrain to reach Point Lenana (4,985 m) between 06:00 and 06:40 to catch sunrise and enjoy summit views and photographs. Descend to Mackinder Camp for a full breakfast and short rest, then continue the descent with a hot lunch break at Picnic Rocks on the way down. Complete the approximately 10 km descent to Met Station Camp arriving in time for 4:00pm tea and hot drinks, enjoy a sundowner and final mountain dinner before an early night.

Wake at approximately 07:00 with breakfast at 07:30 and begin the final descent around 08:00 through treeline and mountain forest. Reach the Naru Moru Park Gate to complete exit formalities by signing out of the park, say goodbye to the guide cook and porters and board waiting transport back to Naru Moru town. Expedition complete and congratulations on reaching Point Lenana at 4,985 m.
