Ascend through bamboo forest and moorland via Chogoria past Lake Ellis and Lake Michaelson summit Point Lenana and descend through Sirimon. 6 nights 7 days with short daily distances suited to trekkers of all ages. Arrival meet at Chogoria town no airport pickup included. Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 Chogoria Town To Bandas Camp

Arrival in Chogoria town by 12:00 noon with a final gear check followed by meeting the guide cook and porters. A short transfer to Chogoria Forest Gate is made for registration then a drive through mountain forest to the 2400m starting point for a picnic lunch. The day involves a 10km trek of about 4 hours through mountain forest toward the treeline arriving at Bandas Camp at 2 950m. In camp expect 4 oclock tea coffee and cookies with a short walk around camp and nearby water points before dinner and overnight in mountain camping tents.

Day 2 Bandas Camp To Lake Ellis

Full breakfast at 07:00 then a start by 08:00 passing the Nithi waterfalls en route. A hot lunch is served at the road head around 3 300m. The group arrives at Lake Ellis by 15:00 where there is free time for trout fishing or a walk around the tarn. The afternoon includes 4 oclock tea coffee and cookies followed by dinner and overnight at Lake Ellis Camp.

Day 3 Lake Ellis To Lake Michaelson

Breakfast at 07:00 and a start by 08:00 into the upper moorland zone. There is a packed lunch break at the Gorges Valley viewpoint around 4 200m followed by a descent to the floor of the Gorges Valley and the magnificent Lake Michaelson. Expect a short rest then a walk to the shores for fishing or panorama viewing. The afternoon includes 4 oclock tea coffee and cookies with dinner and overnight at Lake Michaelson Camp.

Day 4 Lake Michaelson To Upper Simba Tarn

Breakfast at 07:00 then a start by 08:00 into the cold desert zone. On arrival at Upper Simba Tarn Camp enjoy hot lunch at camp followed by a short rest. The day is an acclimatization day with a trek up to 4 700m and back to camp to aid acclimatization. The afternoon is reserved for rest with an early dinner and overnight ahead of an early wake up at 03:00 the next day.

Day 5 Upper Simba Tarn To Point Lenana To Shiptons Camp

Wake at 03:00 for tea hot drinks and cookies then start by 04:00 for the 2.5km summit push. Expect to arrive at Point Lenana for sunrise at around 06:00 to 06:30. After sunrise descend approximately 2km to Shiptons Camp at 4 200m where a full breakfast is served on arrival followed by rest and a hot lunch later. The afternoon is dedicated to relaxation and recovery after the summit attempt with 4 oclock tea dinner and overnight in camp.

Day 6 Shiptons Camp To Liki North Camp

Breakfast at 07:30 then start by 08:30 for the descent toward Liki North Camp. Hot lunch is enjoyed at camp on arrival. The afternoon includes short walks around Liki North Camp and 4 oclock tea and coffee with cookies followed by dinner and overnight at Liki North Camp.

Day 7 Liki North Camp To Sirimon Gate To Nanyuki

Sirimon Gate

Breakfast at 07:00 then start by 08:00 for the 10km trek to Old Moses Camp at 3 300m. Board transport at Old Moses Camp for the remaining 10km to exit the park at Sirimon Gate then drive on to Nanyuki. End of trek with an overnight at a Nanyuki hotel to be confirmed.

Full payment required at time of booking with balance due 30 days before departure. Accepted payment methods include bank transfer and credit card. All equipment food and support staff must be arranged and ready before entering the park.

Cancellation & Refund Policy :

Cancellation more than 30 days prior to departure: full refund minus any non refundable fees. Cancellation 15 to 30 days prior: 50 percent refund. Cancellation within 14 days of departure: no refund. Any changes or refunds are subject to operator terms and park permit policies.
