Naina Bhagwati Mandir is a well-known Hindu temple in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. This temple is set amid the foothills of the great Himalayas and rests near the banks of the River Parvati. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Naina Bhagwati, a divine power that emanated from Lord Shiva’s third-eye. This temple is visited by the devotees on a huge scale and is popular due to its architecture. When viewed from a distance, this temple of Naina Bhagwati appears to be a Buddhist monastery.
Why Is It Famous?
According to a legend, Lord Mahadeva & his divine consort, Goddess Parvati meditated here for eleven thousand years. When Goddess was bathing in the river situated nearby, she lost a jewel and couldn’t find it. When she sought the help of Lord Shiva and he couldn’t find it, his aggression led to open his third-eye. From the eye appeared Goddess Naina Bhagwati. She saw the jewel in the depth of the river which was held by Shesh Naag, the king of serpents. She warned him to give the jewel back to her. He blew the hissing that due to which the jewel came up floating.
Goddess Naina Bhagwati’s temple was constructed here. It was renovated numerous times for a sturdy structure. The sanctum houses the beautiful idol of Goddess Naina Bhagwati that is worshiped by the pilgrims on devotees on a daily basis.

Watch Out!
You have to be extremely careful when you visit this holy shrine during monsoons. It is the season when the water level of the rivers can rise and give birth to the situation of a flood. Thus, a visit to this temple should be avoided during a heavy downpour.
