About Satna

Satna is a city that is located in the 'heart of country' Madhya Pradesh. The region of Satna used to be a princely state in the previous times and was ruled by Baghel Rajputs, Parihar Rajputs, and Kachwaha Rajputs. During their rule, different Hindu temples were constructed that were devastated by the time. Till date, the ruins have not lost their charm and lure the visitors on a large scale.


The city of Satna has an elevation of 1,360 feet above the sea level and unrolls over an area of 175 sq. km. It shares its borders with Uttar Pradesh in North, Sidhi in East, Umaria in South, and Panna in West. Tamsa River flows through the city of Satna. It has a tropical moderate climate. It faces humid summers with an average temperature of 40°C. During the winter season, the mercury level falls down and rests at 15°C. The city receives an annual average rainfall of 1800 mm.
