Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival Entebbe Airport – Kampala

    Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide who will then take you to Cassia Lodge, Overlooking Lake Victoria (Mid Lodge facility) for an overnight and dinner.

  • Day 2 : Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

    Our guide/driver picks you at 7:30 am from Cassia Lodge in Kampala. Drive to Mbarara (283km from Kampala) via Masaka. Make a first stop over at Equator crossing for snacks and photography. Proceed with a visit to Igongo Cultural village this is more rewarding and amazing as you visit the Ankole museum. Lunch break is made at Agip Motel Mbarara. After lunch, drive to Bwindi. This is the lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps. Dinner and overnight stay at Silver Back Lodge (Mid Lodge facility).

  • Day 3 : Bwindi Gorilla Tracking Safari

    After breakfast set off early with guides for this Bwindi Gorilla Tracking Safari. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet. Spend time in awe watching the gorillas go about their activities. Each gorilla safari encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display.

    Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a magnificent green swathe of dense rain forest, so ancient that survived the last ice age. A recently proclaimed World Heritage site, it’s one of the most biologically diverse areas on
    earth and its unique, precious flora sustains roughly half of the world population of mountain gorillas – believed to number just 720. There’s also a substantial chimpanzee population and research shows that Bwindi is the only forest in Africa in which these two apes live together. Dinner and overnight stay at Silver Back Lodge (Mid Lodge facility).

  • Day 4 : Second Gorilla Trekking Bwindi

    After breakfast, you will go for the second gorilla track but in another group returning in the afternoon. Time permitting, spend the afternoon on a community foot safari to explore the life style of the people living and surrounding the park. Return to camp exhilarated to relieve the encounter with friends over a drink. Dinner and overnight stay at Silver Back Lodge (Mid Lodge facility).

  • Day 5 : Bwindi Forest – Semliki National Park

    Begin your day with a cup of African coffee, ready for the drive to Semliki Park North of Bwindi via Queen Elizabeth in to Fort Portal. The drive takes you through the unique western rift valley escarpment and the (southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park) Ishasha sector where you will take on a mid morning game drive in search of tree climbing lions. Proceed to Semliki Park this is a home to 53 mammals of which 27 are large mammals. 11 species are endemic to the park including the pygmy antelope and two flying squirrel species. It is also home to the peculiar water chevrotain, known as the “fanged deer”. Dinner and overnight stay at Semliki Safari Lodge (High end facility).

  • Day 6 : Semliki National Park

    Morning after your breakfast is dedicated for a game drive. The park is home to forest elephant and buffalo which are smaller versions of their Savannah-dwelling relatives. It is also a home for over 53 mammals of which 27 are large mammals. 11 species are endemic to the park including the pygmy antelope and two flying squirrel species. It is also home to the peculiar water chevrotain, known as the “fanged deer”. Afternoon will be for a boat ride along Lake Albert for an opptunty for birding look out for Blue Swallow, White-throated Blue Swallow, Swamp Palm Bulbul, Spotted Greenbul, White-starred Robin, Lowland Akalat, Red-throated Alethe, Fire-crested Alethe, Snowy-headed Robin-Chat, Blue-shouldered Robin-Chat, Red-eyed Puffback, White-tailed Robin-Chat, Northern Bearded Scrub-Robin, Capped Wheatear, Common Stonechat, Abyssinian Ground-Thrush, Oberlaender’s Ground-Thrush, Grey Ground-Thrush, Little Grey Greenbul, Toro Olive Greenbul, Mountain Greenbul, Yellow-throated Nicator, Western Nicator, Purple-throated Cuckoo-shrike, Petit’s Cuckoo-shrike, Black Saw-wing among others Dinner and overnight stay at Semliki Safari Lodge (High end facility) .

  • Day 7 : Shoebill Hut

    Morning search of the rare shoebill stock in the wildlife reserve and a visit to the hot springs. The Sempaya Hot Springs are Semliki’s most famous attraction. The “male” spring, known as Bintente, measures 12m in diameter and is set in a lush swampy clearing. The “female” spring Nyasimbi, meaning “the female ancestors”, is a boiling geyser (103C) which spurts bubbling water and steam up to two meters high – the steam cloud can be seen from as far as 2km away. Local people used to cook their food in these boiling pools. The afternoon is spent on relaxation and sightseeing around your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Semliki Safari Lodge (High end facility).

  • Day 8 : Kampala – Entebbe Out

    Today is dedicated for return to Kampala and Entebbe direct to airport to catch up with your out bound flight back to Tanzania.
