Sinhagad, Sinhgarh, or Sinhgad (The Lion's Fort), is a fortress located roughly 30 kilometres southwest of the city of Pune, India. Previously called Kondhana, the fort has been the site of many important battles, most notably the Battle of Sinhagad in 1671. It was also strategically located at the centre of a string of other forts such as Rajgad, Purandar and Torna.

Rajgad Fort near Pune is one of the grand forts of the Sahaydris. It was Shivaji Maharaj's capital for over 25 years before moving the capital to the Raigad Fort. A trekkers delight the fortifications of Rajgad Fort built with the treasure found on the adjacent Torna fort is for most parts still in tact. Rajgad Fort is a must visit for a trekking enthusiast especially if you are from Pune.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Pune to Sinhgad

  Pune to Atkarwadi bus stop (Breakfast at Atkarwadi).
  Trek to Sinhagad fort.
  We Visit : Pune Darwaja -1, Darwaja - 2, Darwaja - 3, Ghodepaga, Darukothar, Ganesh Takee Wadyache Avashesh, Dev Takee, Amruteshwar - Bhairav Mandir, Tanaji Malusare Samadhi, Kondhaneshwar Mandir.
  Kalyan Darwaja -1, Darwaja - 2, Darwaja - 3, Zunjar Buruj, Udaybhanche Thadage, Kalawantanicha Buruj, Dronagiricha kada(Tanaji Kada), Rajaram Maharaj Samadhi, Tilak Bangla.
  Start trek to Rajgad.
  Midnight rest at Margasni village.
• Day 2 : Night Trek to Rajgad

  From Margasni we reach to Rajgad Fort till morning.
  We visit: Padmavati Machi- Chor darwaja, Padmavati Talav, Padmavati Madir, Sadar, Rajwada, Saibai Ranisaheb Samadhi.
  Sanjeevani Machi- Chilkhati Buruj, Tatbandi.
  Lunch at Rajgad.
  After lunch we visit: Suvela Machi- Kalwshwari Buruj, Bhagirathi Mandir, Zunjar Burauj, Chorvaat, Hatti Prasth, Tatatil Ganapati.
  Balekilla- Mahadarwaja, Janani Mandir, Bramhrshi Madir, Shibandichi Gharati, Rajwada, Chandra taki.
  Return journey to Pune(Evening Snacks on the way).
