Main temple was constructed in 8th century while wall around temple was set up in 12th century. The wall of temple has been constructed, the proof of that, there is no direct outlet for holy water used for worship in Gabhara (sanctum sanctorum). It has to taken out from a kund (small dug built up of stones for water storage) on the route of Pradakshina.
The stone used for construction of temple and the one used for construction of wall both are different. Peshva’s guru and guru of Satar’s Shahu Maharaj, Shree Brahmendra swami (Dhawadshikar) renovated the temple in 18th century. They reconstructed 3 spires of temple, hall in front of temple along with a Nagarkhana(A common place for get together) on top of the hall.Any Kind of personal expenditure (cold drink/minaral water etc.)
